Forum rules

Please take a moment to review these rules detailed below.

Acceptable Behaviour on the forums
  • You may not use these forums to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.
  • You may not post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or with permission of the copyright owner.
  • You may not promote any service (including non-commercial) whether it's by means of providing a link, or by means of contacting the users of these forums through the mailing and messaging tools provided on these forums. Furthermore, advertisements, spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are prohibited on these forums. Also note that we reserve the right to ban external websites or web pages.
  • You will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
  • Personal attacks against other forum members in any of the open forums are strictly prohibited.
  • The Autosport Forums are aimed at offering its members a place to discuss motorsport issues. Posts that are solely aimed at instigating fights, insulting or disrupting service will be removed and will lead to a ban.
  • Each forum may have its own set of rules. You must read these rules before posting for the first time and abide to them.
  • Do not start a new thread when there is already a thread on the same topic.
  • Make sure to start a new thread in the appropriate forum. The description of each forum is available on the forums's homepage.
  • The forum offers a Private Messaging service as well as an e-mail form to contact other members. These tools are aimed at allowing members to communicate in private. However, you may not use the Private Messaging service or e-mail members via the forums for the purpose of attacking, soliticting, promoting or any other form of unsolicited communication. Be aware that should we receive complaints about such behaviour you may be banned from the forums altogether.
  • Images are not allowed in user signatures.
Moderation on the forums
  • The Autosport Forums are moderated by forum hosts and forum administrators. The hosts and administrators are members of the forums and have volunteered their time to do this work. They have been doing this job for several years and are the best to be found on the Internet. Attacking a host or an administrator on these forums because of their work is not tolerated under any circumstances.
  • We welcome you contacting us with feedback. However, the way the forums are run or the actions of the moderation team are not topics to be debated in public. Any such posts will be removed.
  • The hosts and administrators have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realise that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.
  • Although the administrators and moderators of the Autosport Forums will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this service, it is impossible for us to review all messages. In a case where you come across an objectionable post, please bring it to our attention and do not respond to it. By responding to an objectionable post, you are simply adding more work to the host/administrator.
  • When posts are removed because they violate the terms of the forums/Forum, all posts that relate or reply to that removed post will also be removed.
  • In a case of repeat offence, the administrators may ban temporarily or indefinitely a user from participating on the forums.
  • In a case where a user has more than one account on the forums, we reserve the right to ban one or all of his accounts. Furthermore, you should not use more than one account to actively participate on the forums.
  • You may not re-register after being banned from participating on the forums. Any attempt to do so will be detected and lead to the banning of all related accounts without warning.
  • Derogatory, obscene or otherwise unsuitable usernames will be banned or erased at the discretion of the forums administrators.
  • You must have a valid and working e-mail in your profile at all times. If your e-mail is not working and a moderator attempts to contact you, you will be banned.
Autosport.com Subscribers
  • A subscription to autosport.com is not required to register to these forums. Moreover, your subscription login details will not work on the Autosport Forums - as the two services have a completely different user database.
  • You can register the same username on the forums provided it has not already been taken.
  • The Autosport Forums are a separate service to the autosport.com subscription, and it is imperative that you understand this. When you purchase a subscription to Autosport.com you do not purchase any special rights on the forums, although you will not see advertisements if logged in to Autosport.com. Moreover, the terms and conditions of the forums are different to that of the subscription, and most importantly - the moderators of the forums have no way of knowing which user is also a subscriber and which is not.
  • Any complaint or query regarding the Autosport Forums must be addressed to the forum hosts or forum administrators. Please do not contact the subscription support with complaints about forum threads, posts, posters or moderators - only the forums administrators are the address for that. And just like the forums moderators cannot help you with subscription issues, the editors of Autosport.com can't help you with forum issues.
