I believe there were only 930 Commodore SSZ's built were the Ute SSZ's similarly limited ?

"This was a limited edition run from September 2005. 1200 were manufactured. It was advertised as having $6,250 worth of additional features. Based on the SS, it features leather seats with SSZ logo, premium performance brakes, colour-coded SSZ instrument cluster, black centre-mounted oil and volt meters, 18-inch Monaro wheels and colour-coded hard tonneau cover with twin aero forms. The aero forms were inspired by the Utester concept vehicle released in 2001."

I actually used the drivetrain out of one for a kit car project - note OH&S compliance with the bent knees!.

Not much of a clue if you're not an Aussie, (and even then this is still an esoteric one) - not a formula car as such - had to carry a spare - is a real racing car at least as is sans roof, owner's other vehicle (road car with a roof) was a Jag at the time!

For E1. Nothing is better, she's a particularly gorgeous thing.

I have converted some of Dad's factory shots to digital archive and yep, I know Ellrosso here on TNF (G'day ellrosso  - both he and I have offered to sort out the old man's pics!!)

Ellrosso has provided me with a number of shots for my wall - almost exclusively of Elfin Sports and Racing Cars - the notable exception being Jim Clark's second last appearance in the Lotus 49, exiting Mountford Corner at Longford. (A car/driver/venue that good gets to be an exception to the "if it's not an Elfin it's not going on my wall" rule and it's also an exception to the "my favourite Monocoque is a type 100" rule).

Better stop now before I stray too far into last night's territory!

Yes, I sense the boot steps of a brigade headin' our way. ;)

Beautiful car and photos! (enjoying TH also)

Ell's a fabulous bloke indeed, we've threatened to team up at some point (I'm too slammed and holding it up). If I can ever reduce your brain damage from scanning, auto-batching, auto-watermarking, et al, I'd be happy to throw ideas your way. The 10,000+ hours I've spent scanning better amount to something. :drunk: All it'll cost you is a step above Foster's whenever we come down — after the climb. ( ;) )

Sunlight???? It was so cold I lost most of my photos due to camera shake

The car was sitting at the front of the garage with the door open but I left the camera on settings for inside so it looks a bit brighter than it was.

"Speed King"

Mille Miglia 2003

Ah, King Carl Gustaf of Sweden...once famously let loose in the Rune Tobiasson BMW CSL "Batmobile" at the Gelleraasen track in Sweden. Made it all the way down the home straight from the startline, then, at the first corner, the Troeskurvan, he went straight on
into the gravel. Having been given some further advice from Mr Tobiasson, he had another go...and promptly stuck it into the kitty litter at the first corner again...
