Vin & Helen Malkie & the Chevron Racing boys brought down two brand spanking new continuation Chevron B16s for two Belgian customers. I wonder if they'd taken advantage of a 'BOGOF' offer??? :smoking:

Methinks there's an "f" around somewhere.
I did hear on our local radio that the police were going to have a clamp down on such - until one of their own "High Rankers" arrived at his reserved space at HQ sporting similar ! Needless to say in the finest tradition of Law enforcement they didn't bother after that !!

"Got posts up their sleeeeeves...." I can't believe how many shots I take these days.

Some years ago I had to cycle from Didsbury to Oulton, think very carefully before releasing the shutter on my (only) roll of 36 exposures, then ride back home. Into the darkroom, process film; bugger.... all rubbish.... repeat in two weeks time. Come to think of it, at first I only had 12 on a roll.

I've got a zillion photos of cars racing, or lying in pieces, or looking very clean; some of them find their way here because some of you may appreciate them. :drunk:

Whatever, I enjoyed today at Mallory (apart from trying to find a way out of Macc this morning).

Well caught Phil :)

At least the driver remembered to keep his arms close to his chest.

Looking at the 2nd photo he's realised he's going to hit the wall quite hard and he's taken his hands off the wheel - that's if he had any steering at all!

Superb series, Phil.

I have often wondered if the piles of tyres covered by conveyor-belting can sometimes make an accident worse. It looks to me like the car hit the barriers in a hard but glancing manner and, had it just been Armco, it might just have bounced off or slid along. Instead it seems to have "dug in" to the rubber and than been fired off big-style when the kinetic energy in the rubbery bits cried enough.

Motor-bike racers may take a different view.

Of course I may be talking rubbish; I often do.

And thirded!!
I also agree with everything that elansprint (Pete) said. I said to Phil that the start of the accident bore no relation to the outcome (ie the violence that ensued).
The impact tore the neck of the petrol tank filler from the neck of the tank causing all the petrol to empty in a matter of seconds.
Lucky chap all told!
