Thanks for the answers Alan & Wayne, your most welcome anytime Tim :-D

Later DB4s also had faired-in headlights, I believe.
They did as did also the DB4 Vantage.
Shame about the silly wheels and low profile tyres.

Mike Wilds to be testing a Lotus 72 at Mallory this Wednesday?
Well he said as much on Facebook, the Katsu Kubota owned ex-Mad Ronald (Ex- TNFer David Force?) JPS 72 recently rebuilt by Colin Bennett & the boys.
With Goodwood testing on Thursday and Friday this week, don't expect to see Hadfield, Hall & Hall and many others out this Wednesday.

A couple more from last week above Matthew Mason in his Formula Renault Barazi-Epsilon (?) set the fastest times.
Two more shots of the mystery Aston Martin which apart from the closed bonnet scoop...
bares a similarity to a DB5 I saw on the Tour Britannia a couple of months ago.
Looking forward to seeing pix of Mike Wilds in the '72 :-)

Perhaps out at Snett this weekend at the 2-day AMOC meeting? The Saturday will be the official 60th anniversary circuit celebration, despite the fact racing started there Oct 27th '51 ( AMOC meeting ).The Aston at Mallory wore #56 on the driver's door and bonnet (just about visible in Ralph's photo). I'm beginning to think it might be Ian McCallum's lightweight DB5 which he often shares with John Bussell, and which seems to race regularly as #56:

I think that would be Bussell, TonyIt's the Ian McCallum / John Russell Aston Martin DB4GT that's been to Mallory before, albeit on a different set of tyres.

Goodwood testing is actually Wednesday & Thursday this week. Word of warning though to anyone planning to spectate, - you may not get in ....
I know people have attended and managed to take photos in previous years but today I was met by security guard at main gate informing me that he had been instructed not to let public in, - only the contractors building the site are allowed in.
Anyway, after a while the nice security guard got distracted by other guests and I was in ..... ........ you might not be so lucky though so be warned if you are travelling a long way

Great stuff John! Sorry to miss you this morning, but I had to stay at home as I was having a tank of Helium delivered..... honestly! Don't laugh!
Was there much else there today???
No worries, although I was a bit of a 'billy no mates' though - anyway, good excuse to go again
Martin S was assisting Paul Drayson with Aston , E-Type etc, presumably in readiness for Goodwood
Zerox special, Lola T70, Brabham BT?, Mr Ashley's Lola, Corvette, sprinkling of Caterhams - to name a few
I think the March (751 or 761), was Andy Meyrick
Wish I was more proficient with the camera, I'm happier on pit wall with stop watch, sad I know
Will let you know when I can get there next

Is it me or do those front tyres look much larger than they would have been circa 1974?

I believe I said it was a DB5 in the first place
Ross I have not been able to work out if Matthew Masons FR car is pre or post 2010 when I believe the switch was made, I, see if I can get some positive ID on the two types of FR car.

That's definitely the older Tatuus "FR 2000" model. It's still used in the BARC Renault championship but Formula Renault UK (BTCC support race) uses the new car, which you can find pictures of here:

Just one more on a similar theme, put in some quick laps in the low 40's
I was at the Nürburgring yesterday. this March was there but isn't listed in the programm at all. Whoever this driver is, he knows what he's doing because he was damn fast.
There was also Katsu Kubota with a Lotus 72. It looked great but didn't do too well in the 1st timed practice.

Most likeley to be Andy Meyrick - he tends to run with the number 9, 91 or 19.I was at the Nürburgring yesterday. this March was there but isn't listed in the programm at all. Whoever this driver is, he knows what he's doing because he was damn fast.

The March will be running with #1 because Peter is the current HFO Champion . Andy usually drives one of the six Ragno liveried Arrows cars in Historic F1 races. The standard joke is that there are now more Ragno cars than Arrows ever made but there were two years maybe three of Ragno sponsored cars so that expalins why so many exist- I hope ...
