Because of the weather, unfortunately, there were more topless activities in the paddock between the action; which I include purely as a historical record.

Merci bien pour ca.
A Pau j'ai parle avec Tony Goodwin, pilot ancien de Ember Racing qui a conduit cette voiture. Il me dit que Beltoise aussi etait pilot (ensemble autres). Vous avez confirme son opinion
Merci encore

FANTASTIC!!!Originally posted by drivers71
[B]At last (I hear you say) 1982 photos are now appearing on my Photobucket pages; starting with the March International Trophy for F2 cars and a magnificent 6 Hour Sports Car race in May. For once, the weather matched the superb entry, with rarely seen Rondeau and WM Peugeot cars having a run-out before Le Mans. Also, for once, the all-conquering, unbeatable Porsche/Ickx/Bell combination were beaten fairly and squarely into second place by the Lancia Martini spyder. If that wasn't enough, we had the first Sauber sports car, the beautiful C100 from Ford, the amazing Osella 2-litre, along with a rare glimpse of the Aston Martin Nimrod.
Because of the weather, unfortunately, there were more topless activities in the paddock between the action; which I include purely as a historical record.

Thank you for sharing these images as I was at most of those events too from 1979 onwards, so it's great to see all those pictures and to see get all those memories coming back. Lovely stuff!

Great photos Simon, thank you! I am sure I used to see Tim Goss in a clubmans car at Brands Hatch, in the mid sixties? Any confirmation guys? Or just another senior moment maybe

Nigel Mansell prepares to give the Ralt RH6/80-Honda its debut. He finished 11th, but during the following four seasons the chassis/engine combination became sufficiently effective to kill F2 off completely.
A thorough inspection for Siegfried Stohr's Docking Spitzley Toleman TG280.
Jim Crawford's Chevron B45 and Rad Dougall's Cassani Ralt RT4. Crawford spent much of the race monstering Manfred Winkelhock's works March... until he got too close at the chicane and damaged the B45's nose. He later retired with a blown BDA.
The BSCC race was interrupted by a cloudburst. This is Andy Rouse - his team-mate Gordon Spice was one of several drivers to crash at Woodcote when the heavens opened.
Derrick Brunt in reflective mood at the wheel of his Alfasud Sprint.
Tim Goss gives the catch-fencing a playful kiss.

Of course, in Clubmans terms, 1969 was the year in which the sublimely talented Deryck Cook utterly dominated the 1 litre class, and many times embarrassed the 1600cc runners rather somewhat, with his immaculate DRW clubmans resplendent in glorious Roman Purple, a RR colour, the car at that time in its ninth season of successful competition. Apologies, I am biased.

I was at the Silverstone June F2 race though, and as you say the star was Jim's B45, being hurled thru' the Woodcote chicane, chasing the foreigners in their newer and supposedly better cars. His engine was a BDX tho', not a BDA....F2 was brilliant in those days wasn't it?

I think the color is quiet good, perhaps a little more blue, but it was a very "light" color.

Monterey F-5000 Grid 1975.
You can see Davey Evans with his hand up on the far left. That's Jonesy Morris behind Mario's car (he was the crew chief on Al Unser's car). Jim Hall in Cowboy hat is to Davey's right. John Saunders-Hyde, Mario's crew chief is on the far right in the photo. Next to John, by Mario's car, is Terry Stokes. Scott Dennison is behind Al's rear wing.

I got an answer from Jean L but while I am prepared to accept that it was Beltoise in the cockpit (he was also suggested by Tony Goodwin who drove the car in period) the date of 1st May 1973Magny Cours does not fit as it was a Tuesday. On 6th May the car was at Spa for the 1000km driven by Hine/Howllings. Any further advances please

I know that a number of TNFers have a soft spot for Sierra Cosworths in the BTCC (Pete Fenelon included), so here are a few to revive those great days of British saloon car racing, before it finally became a demolition Derby.

I know the quality is lousy, but here are a couple - there are a few more to follow if they are of interest.
I think the first is Graham Hill, followed by another BRM, the second may be de Baeufort?
Anyone able to add more positive identification?

It is the 1963 Oulton Park Gold Cup. The first picture is of Graham Hill leading Ritchie Ginther in the two works BRMs.
The second picture is definately de Beaufort in his Porsche ahead of a Lotus 24?

The second is Jo Siffert in the Siffert Racing Lotus-BRM.
The third is a bit more of a puzzle. The Cooper in the foreground could be either Bruce McLaren or Tony Maggs. The car in the bcakground is Trevor Taylor in the Lotus-Climax.
