It had to be frustrating to be in Jabouille's place - just one finish in entire season, and it was a win!!!
Yeah and he repeated that in 1980 with Zeltweg !!!

I didn't see the crash but I sure did hear it. The whole thing happened in turn 3. I was sitting about 100 metres away. Poor guy's car went under the guardrails...

This week's Autosprint has a drawing of it too.
It featured many sensible ideas wich have been incorporated in later FISA rulebooks, including driver head lateral protections and suspension placed ahead of the drivers feet.
One of the most notable features were small wheel rear fairings , to avoid wheel to wheel contact and Gilles Villeneuve style accidents
