Dear all

Today we've launched the Castrol Edge Grand Prix Predictor, powered by AUTOSPORT.com. After a lot of blood, sweat and tears the site has gone live and is a lot of fun (seriously, it's well addictive - I've spent the first hour of my day today fiddling around with my predictions for Melbourne... and reading what our panel of experts are predicting).

It's free to enter at http://predictor.cas...gerankings.com/ and there are some top prizes up for grabs.

All you need to do is register, come up with a team name (no naughtiness please) and make your predictions using the intuitive mechanism our rather clever tech team has come up with.

Our panel of expert predictors consists of Johnny Herbert, Andy Priaulx, Darren Turner and top F1 journos Jon Noble and Edd Straw. Jon Noble doesn't have a McLaren featuring in the top 10 at all!

And finally, there is a prediction which is made via FORIX data (which is all mashed together in a complex algorithm to come up with a top 10). It suggests a podium of Alonso, Vettel and Rosberg.... Maybe Merc will be making a big comeback after all this season.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Jim

Only available to residents of UK?

I understand your magazine is targeted at UK audience, but I would think autosport.com has a much large demographic.

I hope this changes soon.

This.

It seems I can register and participate, but I can't actually win anything.

That does seem pretty lame.

Well, it's not like you'll win anyway. Lol.

In any case, a lot of fun and well executed. Great times.

A little bit offtopic but:

On the Castrol EDGE GP Predictor website there's this text about Johnny Herbert's career in 1991:
"Joins Mazda’s sportscar line-up and takes a shock victory on his debut at the Le Mans 24 Hours in the amazing rotary-engined 787B with Bertrand Gachot and Volker Weidler."

That's not correct,
Herbert made his Le Mans debut in 1990, with the same team and drivers but DNF due to a electrical problem:
