Here is a1/43 model I have just completed- it is the Jaguar XJ13 entered by the Cunningham team in the Le Mans 24hrs. of 1966......................................

Are you sure that the Cunningham team entered a Jaguar XJ13 in the Le Mans 24hrs. of 1966? I am asking because in 1966 the #12 was a Ford GT40 from the Comstock Racing Team driven by Jochen Rindt and Innes Ireland that did not finish, because he retired after only 8 laps due to an engine problem.
Well, as far as I know the XJ13 was never raced.

Very nice.Now, what could we put on the shelf to keep this company? The 1962 RRC Walker Ferrari "sharknose"? Or the 1955 Carrera Panamericana winning Mercedes 300SLR Coupé?
Any other suggestions?

How about the 3 "semi-works" Low Drag E Type Jaguars from Le Mans 1962? Or perhaps the Moss/Jenkinson 1958 Mille Miglia (real one not the rally) winning Aston DBR1?

But the XJ13 with wheel arch flairs didn't exist then. The real XJ13 had no flairs and narrower wheels. Only after Abbey Panels rebuilt the car following a crash at MIRA (I believe) did it get those horrible wheel arches and fatter wheels.
As my original, award winning 1/43rd scale model of the car will show, if you can find one

Thanks for your comments;but this is a what if and the flared arches were made especially for Le Mans! Martin,I have never seen the Guild model but it does sound excellent,the one above is resin,made by DAM and is ok. I have the Paddock kit,similar to AMR very expensive,very detailed and a bit oversize. Also have the Danbury mint car which I prefer. I can only make 1 green XJ13 so thought this would make a nice change. Tonecas,you are right of course and caught me out! I am busy looking at your blog now.

that was a bit tongue in cheek. I realise your model was a "what-if" and it probably would have had flares if it did actually race to keep up with the GT40s, etc.
It wouldn't surprise me if my original Guild Model had been copied. My others have been! No point moaning about it. It happens and I sold a LOT of models both kit and built originally. Lot of water under the bridge since then (I lived on a boat, arf, arf<G>)
