Hi guys,

I'm going to the Turkish GP this year.

I'm in the middle of booking tickets, has anyone been ? I want to sit in Silver 8 but not sure what block to sit at, any recommendations? Can I pick up the tickets from the circuit or can I get them forwarded to the hotel? I am leaving for Turkey on Monday.

Also any recommendations on hotels etc? We're taking the train up from Antalya and hope to stay in Istanbul or fairly near by?

Help,suggestions would be great!"

Hi there,

Thanks for the response, do you know any decent hotels in the area, I'll have a look at the hotel links you have sent too (especially as we are very limited on our budget).

We can afford about £200 for four days.

Are you from Turkey? Have you got any experience on how the over night train is like from Antalya to Istanbul or is it better to fly up?

Yeah, I'm from Turkey but I don't know about the hotels in the area unfortunately. Of course, I guess you mean the trackside right?

Well, as far as I know there is no train route from Antalya to Istanbul. If there was, that would be troublesome and exhausting, and take +10 hours anyway. It's a long journey. So I'd advise you to fly. I don't think the price will differ that much. You can find charter flights from Pegasus or Atlas Jet or Onur Air (all being Turkish co.)

Buy a full package deal, including hotel and transport back and forth to the track.

Went there last year, the track is a good bit away from Istanbul (it's in Asia), with only some 35.000 spectators the arrangement and the lack of good service was a disappointment, we had Gold Seats at the end of the Pit straight and could really not see too much, and they have covered the fences with tarpulin, so there is a lot of track you should be able to see, which you can not.

Unless you get a seat with a Giant screen in front of you, will be a limited F1 experience.

Istanbul itself was a very nice.

We were looking at the Istanbul to Denizl Pamukkale Express then getting the bus to and from Denizl to Antalya. I can drive (I've driven from north west uk to frankfurt so I can drive long distances, however, I've heard the roads are pretty dangerous. I hate flying so I was going to try and avoid flying to istanbul. The flight from antalya does seem to be the quickest way though to get where I need. I'll have a look at the companies you gave me there to have a better idea on price.

We've seen the deal :

http://turkeygrandpr..._HOTEL_3_NIGHTS

We don't need the transfers from the airport, however, it would work out at around $1100 including the silver tickets which would make it quite unaffordable for us really. We were looking at Gold stands (at the far right of the stand towards the final corner) or Silver 8. The circuit does seem to be a long way from Istanbul city.

Have a nice trip!

Yes, AFAIK you can buy your tickets at the circuit. There is also this web site www.biletix.com.

Enjoy.
