Presumably there will be nothing unusual about qualifications for the first of these two races at Texas Motor Speedway, but how will the starting lineup be determined for the second of them? And how quickly after the conclusion of the first race will the green flag drop for the second?

Cars will qualify in the usual way for the first race. The line-up for the second race will be determined by a blind draw after the first race concludes. Teams have one hour of prep time between the first and second races. Pit locations are set according to Indy qualifying results. Each team gets an extra engine to use for the second race, if they need it.

Each race is 114 laps long, and the start times are scheduled for 7:45 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Central time.

Absolutely no problem whatsoever.

I'll be at TMS for the race in a couple of weeks and will try to post from there if there's anything I can illustrate or clarify.
