Some friends and I are planning to drive the route of the Mille Miglia sometime next spring, and want to do it in style. We are thinking about hiring Ferrari's for the trip, and are looking for recommendations of reliable companies to hire Ferraris from in Italy and also of any 'must see/do/visit' places we should go to along the way. Obviously we are checking out the information here http://www.1000migli...glese/home.html, but if anyone has any additional advice or tips, they would be much appreciated.

I know this isn't strictly Grand Prix related and I haven't heard anything on here, but have been doing a bit more research. There are quite a few companies doing ferrari rentals it seems, especially in Italy (of course!) I have seem some amazing cars available (the 458 Italia included!!)and had a nice quote from this company that can rent us a convertible in Milan, anyone used them before? They claim they can guarantee the make and model. I would have thought that all companies could do that in this market, but maybe I am wrong. Elite seems to be the biggest company, but I haven't heard back from them yet. Anyway it is only 49 miles to Brescia from Milan and we'll probably fly into Milan, so it seems a pretty good option.

forgot to ask, anyone know if the Lamborghini factory is open for visits again? The website says it would be closed until April 2011 but it hasn't been updated. If it is not open, would the museum alone be worth a visit?

The museum is worth it, in my opinion. We didn't do the factory tour when we were there, which I greatly regret.

Thanks for the hotel advice, we are sorting out our timetable and accommodation out at the moment - cars are sorted though which is great. Apparently you can't go to the Lamborghini factory tour these days unless you are Lewis Hamilton. A shame, but the museum sounds worth it anyway.
