While watching the Le Mans 24 Hours - I wondered, who is the best boss at the moment, Dr Ulrich has got to be a strong contender. And I'm not an Audi fan, even Quesnel has had success running PSA Sport.

So, who do we think is No1.

I wonder what people base their judgment on. Briatore gotta be the worse manager you can choose for anything. He has about zero of the qualifications that describe a good manager, including the ability to not talk like some sopranos wanna be bully.

Not to mention that he destroyed his last team, look at the renault managed by a "manager" now and compare it to the 2009 mess.

Well the guy did help the Enstone team win 7 championships and many races... He may not know anything about engineering, but he had to be doing something right to lead a team to championships, and to be re-hired to win some more championships (With Renault).

So are we talking Team Managers, Team Principals, or Heads of Motorsport division?

Just wanting to know because all 3 are different imo...

While Dr Ulrich is the Head of Motorsport, I think, is it Ralf Juttner who is Team Manager.
Maybe it should the figurehead of a team....

Peter Sauber must be up there, being successful in LeMans and F1, surely?

As head of Audi Motorsport Dr Ullrich is in effect the 'Team Principal', representing Audi, the investors.

While Ralf Juttner is part of the Joest side of Audi Team Joest as Technical Director, in effect the 'Team Manager'. Of course Reinhold Joest himself is constantly in the garage but probably just there as the boss of Joest Racing.

Meanwhile Howden Haynes and Leena Gade are from Progressive Motorsport, UK while Brad Kettler from Champion Racing, USA. Contracted out to Joest Racing. This is what I gather anyway.

Audi supplies the cars, Joest is in charge of racing them. And probably for 'discounted services' Joest gets mention in the team name. The R10 and R15 were slower than the 908. Joest had to work extra hard to offset the shortcomings from Audi. The R18 made their job a little easier this year

Yeah, Audi are the best run team in motorsport. They always seem to do the right thing and it's up to their competitors to figure out how to beat them.

There are indeed different roles with similar titles.

What was Windsor in charge of? Shipping the equipment to different races, managing sponsor and press activities (important), having plently of catering at hand and so forth I guess. Surely nothing to do with bolting "go fast" bits on the car by his USF1 efforts...
