What's so great about a rider having a nap against a concrete wall? :p

Geoff Bodine at Daytona

He broke his right wrist, right cheekbone, a vertebra in his back, and his right ankle, and also suffered a concussion.

He is the pace/safety car driver for the NASCAR Sprint Cup nowadays.

Wow, fame at last!
I took that shot at Goodwood 2008 - end of the forest rally stage.
Glad you like it, just wish I'd had a longer lens on - wouldn't have needed to crop it so heavily then.

These are awesome shots, but ALL of the photos would be MUCH better if whoever took them didn't edit them so much, blow out the highlights, and set the contrast to ridiculous. They would be much better if they looked more natural.

I got those pictures from a thread on the high resolution board on 4chan ages ago - unedited copies, or at least less-edited, exist somewhere, as far as I know. Perhaps try starting a thread on there one day.

One more I liberated from that thread, just found it now. No idea who the original photographer is.

My friend's site has a lot great rally photos made by various people (including professionals):

Top 25:
http://rallyfoto.com...e=toplist&t=t25

Top 100
http://www.rallyfoto.com/sv/
(you can enlarge by right-clicking and selecting "Otworz obrazek w nowym oknie".

A few examples :)

First three photos from Threeckee vel Marcin Rybak

Now grolson vel Grzegorz (Greg) Roslon
His profile: http://rallyfoto.com...le&user=groslon
His site: http://gregroslon.com/ (lots of great galleries there!)
You can also go to "Database" at his site to get links to galleries on eWRC.cz like http://www.ewrc.cz/e...e...f=100&all=1

I must say that those two guys made some of the best rally photos I've ever seen. Brilliant. There are other good photographers on rallyfoto.com :)
BTW IIRC on the site you can contact the photographers for a print.

Please don't redistribute those photos without annotation about their authors :)

Looks like the editing might have been necessary. That photo is massively overexposed and difficult to salvage.

This was one year I didn't sit in my normal seats and I got seats in turn 1 with a good view of this accident. It certainly looked serious but Cheever's reaction told me all I needed to know. Cheever was a bit of a plain spoken hot head (something that every series could use...adds spice imo) He jumped out of his car, very obviously going to confront the idiot who caused a crash on the first turn of a 200 lap race. When he looked back and saw poor Stan and his car he became very subdued. I bristle at the contention that people watch racing only to see crashes. I always feel a bit sick when I see one like this.

There is a sequence of these that are really amazing.

Any idea where this pic was taken ? There are not many tracks where cars take off nowadays, in fact I can't think of another one than the Nordschleife, but it doesnt seem to be that one here.

What happens when you make a Hot Wheels car into a real car.

Help to continue the ushering the rear wheel drive cars.

Lime Rock Park. If you don't take the chicane, you carry enough speed to get some lift.
