A Thank you....

I come here often on a whim, and post as I wish. I've been doing so for YEARS. And although I've chatted with moderators, I've never really thanked them or given them credit for what they do. They are not paid, and they spend their time making sure that this forum remains what it is; a worthwhile place to be.

I'd like to offer a sincere "thank you" to all of the "moderators", "forum hosts" and whatever else they call themselves for the work they provide for us at this forum - I expect that it is a thankless task to have to deal with the likes of me (not to mention others ) and to spend their days and nights trawling through our rants, opinions, heartfelt cries, trolls, screams of derision, screams of rage, triumphalism, whining (whinging?) moaning, bitching, carping and despair. This is probably the wrong place for such a "thank you" - but I would be much obliged if you would give me the benefit of the doubt as a long-time member to subvert (slightly) the rules of the forum to place this where it should be - where all of you work. I'm a complete ass, so I appreciate, perhaps more than others the job you do, and the sacrifice that you make to do it.

What could I gain? Zip. If I slag Schumacher now, calling him a ("&$&&@##&&^%$#$$$$ Kr^#$" and a "*&##%$$£§¶") I know that the moderators will take my post, consider it and pass it on to the dumpster.

I gain nothing from this topic. But I have gained HUGELY by the presence of the moderators. - and I'd point you to my profile - I've been a "contributer" here since 1998 (note quotes). I've nothing to gain. If I did, i wouldn't have made the posting.

Hey Bruce, being myself an "old timer" like you, I have nothing but appreciation for the mods here.

Always a great job.

Let's do the moderators a favour - if you wish to slag me, there are loads of threads where this can be done. This thread is about the moderators and our appreciation (or not - your choice) of them.

I'm doing this because I appreciate the work they do - and as proof of this, I am going to do what I suspect they wish I would do in EVERY thread - butt out.

I've been hanging round these forums forever, thanx to the Mods for making this such a great place.

That said, why are the mods here not paid? Yes, I do agree the mods here are very good. But I have always wondered why a place like Autosport does not pay moderators.

I expect they get the 'paid for content' for free and they enjoy doing it
