I hope that Twinny will me a degree of latitude, given that this is not a true Nostalgia topic, but I would like publicly to thank all the TNF members who have offered condolences and support following the loss of my dear wife Heather last Friday.

I have been enormously touched by cards, messages and letters that have poured in.

It is at a time like this that you realise that TNF really is a family.

Only just heard the news Barry, from Rod Waller. So sorry to hear that, I know that Heather as battled long against the illness and you have both had such a tough time in recent years. We are all thinking of you.

We haven't interacted here very much yet, Barry, but I am very sorry to read this. :cry:

Be good to yourself and get out with friends or alone whenever possible, or at least do things you enjoy if/when you can.

Heather will be with you forever.

Really, REALLY sorry to here this Barry, when you get to a certain age you expect to be together forever, then life gets up and kicks you in the b****cks,
But you will get over this, not today, not tomorrow, but one day, you need to lean on your family and friends now more than ever.
Heather will be up there looking out for you, making sure that your life goes on, make the most of it!

Barry, to me as a regular reader and rare contributor to TNF you are standing out as a character, not just because of the Connew story, and I feel connected. I hate one line contributions to express condolences, but the list of the above responses from senior TNF contributors in itself says enough.

I cannot imagine your loss, and I can only hope our sympathy and our enduring interest in all things connected to the nostalgia we love so much, will help you to continue with her memory in mind, without ever forgetting all the good times you shared.

Barry, apologies for not noticing and/or contacting you earlier, the last week has.. been dreadful actually, but that's not for here or now and has it's own mention on Facebook.

I am so sorry to hear this. I never met Heather, but by meeting you at the two or three historic meetings, or via correspondence, it's clear how devoted you were to her and what an amazing woman she was. I am glad she is at peace and I hope that this brings some comfort to yourself at this difficult time.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and Heather's family and friends. Stay safe, Barry.

Barry;
my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. You are a good man and a talented man too. Sustaining oneself through the illness and passing of a loved one, is a tremendous challenge; the feeling of loss can be crushing.
That you have the respect and concern of your fellow TNF members, is a given.
Anytime you feel the need for a break and could sustain the excitement ( or otherwise) of a visit to Baltimore Md....there is a room and a car available.....always
