Great find - just watched '77 Monza race; missed Murray but otherwise most excellent.

Think I'll time-travel to the '70 race with them tomorrow!

I got a good giggle from the display of the halftime football results... 8 goals in toto in 13 matches! The high time of the catenaccio, indeed! :rotfl:

Don't cancel all your other engagements, it's just a ten minute clip, with very little actual race footage (less than a minute?). It contains a lengthy interview with Ignazio Giunti, though, but unless your Italian is much better than mine you'll end up enjoying the pretty anchorwoman most! :well: or

Not much better with the 1970 Monaco GP, although the last five or six laps are shown. Again, I ended up enjoying Barbara Milani most - I think I'm gonna marry her.

An hour's worth of the 1981 British GP is also available; compulsory watching for anyone who thinks that Gilles Villebeuve is not the most overrated driver in F1 history.

Love the way she says "fibra di carbone"...

Another Villeneuve myth buster, the 1979 Italian GP warrants watching: team orders or not, the Canadian was exactly as close to the leader as Scheckter let him be, throughout the race! As long as Laffite was still a threat, Villeneuve couldn't even keep in his teammate's slipstream, despite clearly driving on the edge - and sometimes over it. Scheckter, on the other hand, looked exceptionally clean throughout - a man in total control of the situation, and the race.

And Barbara, it's "Me-sha-el", not "Me-ka-il"... ah, forget it! :|

Mirabile dictu, that hadn't reached its peak. In October 1991 there was a weekend when there were only 8 goals in the FULL 90 minutes...and in the 14th matchday in Serie B in 1984-5 there were 6 goals in 10 full matches...

This stands as an even greater thing than your love of Osella. Thankyou!

Cheers Ghinzani! A good friend of mine presumed you were me a few years ago as I am a massive fan of the great man like you and he didn't think that there would be many of us around. Anyway it was great coverage only a pity monaco 76 and monza and monaco 70 were so short.

Such a shame, maybe you could have been Piercarlo or Peter Charles or similar. Ive got the Hotmail and Gmail accounts too Im afraid... or how about Kelemata? or Weidder Fassel or whatever it was!

Kudos to RAI anyway, assume theres some other stuff in the archives to come. That Monza was so atmospheric, I was sat watching it last night nodding off slightly whilst my batch ran just thinking how for instance Giacomelli was thinking as a young man sat on that grid, what was going through his mind. If ever there was a time to have lived and been an F1 driver I think those few years either side were probably the best.
