I know this get asked on nearly every FOS & Revival but those threads get rather long and a little hard to search, so I thought a dedicated thread might assist.
I've booked my Revival tickets and as a Goodwood virgin I'm after advice/recommendations on accommodation - Thanks.

The last few years I have stayed on the camp site as it is so convenient for getting in and out. LM provides a bus service or it is a 15 minute walk. We used to stay in Southsea but it is an hour in through the bypass car park!!
I have found the best place is north of circuit towards Midhurst as it is an easier run in. In 2011 I took the E type as part of the 50th thing so of course couldn't tow the caravan!! Th problem is they get booked up so far in advance it gets difficult. PM me and I will give you further info.

There are so many variables:
Will you have your own transport or be relying on public transport?
Are you thinking of: camping (tent, caravan, campervan), bed & breakfast, hotel (* or ****) etc?
What's your budget?
Personally I have used camping (primitive) in the field behind the Anglesey Arms, camping (civilised) at a commercial site South of Chichester and driving down (a long day but do-able from Coulsdon)

In my own case I'm coming with the 'other half' so the camping option is at the bottom of the list. It is part of a 3-4 week hire car travelling holiday around GB. Hotels and B&Bs seem to be around the 120-140 Pounds Sterling per night for that weekend but there are few available in the vicinity, and most want a 4 night booking.
I was hoping the thread would be an information source for anyone attending Goodwood, so it's open to all options.

Travelodge Chichester...10 mins from the circuit.
Basic as hell/ aesthetics of a prison...no breakfast.
We had double room...£43.
Plenty good enough.
We booked in January for September. Will do the same for 2012.

Excuse thread hijack but can I pose the same question re Silverstone? For some years my enjoyment of the Classic has been enhanced by the enthusiast's perfect B and B The Old Vicarage Priors Marston(this years trek to the circuit in my Seven R400 in company with fellow guests in a Khamsin and a Shelby Mustang was a joy) . Sadly Judith and David are selling up- any ideas where I can stay within 40 mins max of Silverstone, safe parking essential and opportunity to drink too much whilst talking motor sport bollocks to fellow guests highly desirable.

Bognor is pretty convienient for Goodwood, and there are a lot of creaky old hotels there so it doesn't get booked up so fast as the closer options.
I've used the Royal Norfolk as a base a couple of times, recall it being pretty reasonable and doing a good breakfast.
Silverstone I have only ever camped at to avoid the traffic.

I purchased tickets for Woodcote Grandstand thinking it was the Chicane, but I now see from the map that is a different grandstand. However, there is no listing for Chicane Grandstand tickets, is it an 'invited guest only' kind of arrangement?
I also see that the Startline Grandstand ticket are cheaper than Woodcote, does that indicate Woodcote is the better option of the two?

Woodcote stand is a better view than Chicane anyway so dont worry ! You can see all down the straight and right though Woddcote and the braking zone for the chicane. Re accomodation, look further afield eg Worthing. Only 35 - 40 mins drive and I dont find traffic much of a problem from that direction.
