Nice pic of Jim on the ex-Kenny Roberts TZ700, well done Graham! I think Jim now lives in Thailand.
I worked with Jims nephew Stephen Harvey who registered on the forum after I showed him the way to 'The Dark Side' :D
Stephen raced a vintage Norton and a TZ350 but was injured in a race at Jehonville a few years ago, he told me that after Jim bought the bike, they checked it over and it had a brand new crank/pistons/gearbox/clutch and had been rebuilt by the maestro himself, Kel Carruthers.
Where are you Stevie?? I know you look in occasionally

What the crash was 1974? or Ballington on the yellow/orangey Kawasaki?
Here is Kork's 750 Kawasaki triple being admired by Roger (bigrog) & Peter? Aldridge @ Brands PBI 1974, Kork was a retirement in the MCN race.
Roger would love how the forum has grown these last few years, RIP matey. :(

Hi Graham it was won by Steve but didnt the race have quite a few leaders and fallers, I remember Tony Nash having quite a lead and sliding off. Interesting picture of Tony on the 700 Yam I remember sitting on that bike at Mallory during a British Championship Round when I was 13, I have wanted one ever since unfortunately I am still waiting.

Ha me to Mark, only been on a 350G, never mind Roy Flower might let me sit on his Rottweiler one day!!? :D
I have this race on DVD, & other than Wayne Dinham falling off @ Surtees? Steve led from start to finish, (just remembered Geoff Went led for a few laps!) Tony Nash finished 4th. There was a big crash entering Clearways on penultimate lap, when Steve Goodrum Adrian Godden & Alan Blasdell went down together.
finishing order was,
1st Steve Manship
2nd Kork Ballington
3rd Geoff Went
4th Tony Nash
5th Jim Wells
6th Percy Tait
7th Richard Peckett
8th Steve Parrish
9th Phil Gurner
10th Graham Hobbs
11th Bob Towse
12th Eddie O'Brien
13th Mike Shoesmith
14th Roger Winfield
15th Colin Braddick.

Graham, in recognition of all the good work you do, you can have a sit/ride on any of my bikes whenever it takes your fancy.
I hope to do a bit more riding next season so you can do the same.
Hope to see you soon.
I'll take the photo's!

Roy

Seen before, but bears repeating because it contains two of life's delights... a Beezumph triple on 19" wheels, and a Thames van... :)

Hi all,

I live in Germany and I am restoring a TZ750 with quite a unique frame.

This is how it looked as I bought it:

Posted Image

The frame is brazed rather than welded, most of the threads are imperial.
I think it was made in Britain around 1977.

Posted Image

I have asked most of the better known manufacturers as Harris, Maxton or Spondon.
But all of them said, it was not from their production. I guess it was a one off, the frame nr. is SM001.

Posted Image

It is also pictured on the TZ350.com site

Posted Image

Steve McLaughlin was named as the rider.
But I have asked Steve and his answer was he canĀ“t remember ever having ridden this bike.

I also heard of Tony Harris as a rider, did he win in Lydden Hill on it? (Lord of Lydden)

Come on guys, can anyone tell me more about this bike or even can show a photograph?
