HULK SMASH
Really glad Hulk got the better of Di Resta today hopefully tomorrow too.
Though I still hope he won't smash any cars tomorrow

One is a top quality driver who is driving for FI because he has no backing.
The other is a decidedly average driver who is driving for FI because he has massive backing.
Helps PDR's case immensely that FI dont pay him a salary....

+1I don´t understad this hype around Di Resta. Sure he is a decent driver but he hasn´t really shown anything worth hyping for...at least yet

And is it the driver's fault? I believe, it isn't. FI can be happy with their line-up, and although Hulk was better today, di Resta will be fine for the rest of the season.

I don't understand what's going on; how can the greatest driver that ever existed be beaten by this inferior German newcomer?

You mean the tyre gamble that paid off?
He drove a Williams! He was the best qualifier at that GP. Amazing.
Both are very amazing drivers and it will be very close, however imo Hulkenberg will overpace Di Resta, like Sutil did.

Unfortunately there are a few hyped drivers and since the grid has become competitive this will show up clearly over the season who is better than the rest.
Hulk is better than the hyped Di Riesta
So will be the case of Senna who will be taken to the cleaners by Maldanado
In the due course of the season Heikki will be outpaced by Vitaly Petrov.

I expect this to be a tough fight between the two of them this year, Hulkenberg may have first blood but there's 39 more fights between them yet.

Looking back through the times during qualy Paul and Nico were pretty much neck and neck through most of the session, even in the first runs in Q2 the were very close, its does seem as though DIR didn't get the tyre temps he needed in that final Q2 lap or something, not suggesting he would of beaten "The Hulk" for a minute just that the 7 tenths isn't completely representative of DIR pace against Nico's.
*Cue mass (and accurate) accusations of being a "fanboy"

Over the season the picture will change.
Indeed. At present they are level on 0 points, over the season, Hulk will stretch that gap out quite substantially.

And who said " the hype" is drivers fault?

Di Resta is a fine driver and he'll be tough competition, so it will be an interesting battle either way.

I just want to put up a little defense for Paul because, well, someone has to!
I believe he somehow upset some of the more sensitive Vettel fanbase last season, hence the influx of bitchiness and premature celebration. This quali goes to Hulk, but ,erm, dare I suggest there are still 19 races to go.

To be fair, that's probably true, but people are soooo sick of the unjustified hype you can't be surprised at this kind of reaction.I just want to put up a little defense for Paul because, well, someone has to!

What's Vettel got to do with it? Fans across the board got pissed off with sections of the media cumming in their pants everytime diResta so much as curled off a turd.

Really, this shouldnt be a close fight.
One is a top quality driver who is driving for FI because he has no backing.
The other is a decidedly average driver who is driving for FI because he has massive backing.
Yet Hulkenberg beat him today. Well, lets see about the rest of the season

Points -
Di Resta - 1
Hulk - 0
To be honest i like both of them so i'd be happy with either scoring, Paul made the most of a crazy last lap and a bit of luck unlike The Hulk who didn't have any.

As i said yesterday points make prizes.
What a last lap though.
di Resta made the best of that mess.

True but as Hulk was not actually able to race you still have to say he was the better of the two here as we can only judge on qualifyingAs i said yesterday points make prizes.

Fair point.
I think it'll be close between them all season.

Not quite sure what's uber brilliant about trundling around in the mid teens all race then inheriting a last minute point through those ahead of you having issues.

In that case you will agree Sutil crushed and obliterated Paul last year, which by association must make Sutil beter than Christ and Mohammed combined.

Hulk and di Resta are both very, very good and would grace any team on the grid.

Indeed, to many "haters" crow the second Paul is beaten by his team mate. Personally i'm a big Di Resta fan but i've been following the Hulk a long time aswell and think he possibly has the edge but Di Resta is a very good peddler too.

Their times are very close which tells me they are getting the most out of the car.
It'll be close between them. They are both good drivers.
They'll be good for Force India.

After FI folds this year I fully expect Mercedes to hire DiResta and Hulk will more than likely go to Red Bull or McLaren shortly there after.
Judging by the recent news in mercedes thread, they have a higher probability of quitting f1 than Force India.

I had no intention of correcting you or proving a point .Just read the Mercedes thread and you are exactly right, i stand corrected.
I just feel that there aren't that many option to move up. RBR are going to favor one of their young guns from Torro Rosso for Webber's seat. I think Perez has all but sewn up Ferrari 2nd seat, and unless Lewis falls out with McLaren, there is no opening there. Their best hope is stay in FI or at best move sideways to maybe Lotus/Sauber.
Things can always change in the future, so who knows.
BTW, I had heard a lot about PDR early last season, and was looking forward to see him race, however once he wasn't able to beat Sutil, I feel he hasn't lived upto the hype. Hopefully he can change my mind this season. My money is on the Hulk being faster over a season. We will see though.

Last year Nico said he had got his sponsor (Kajtes or whatever it is) tattooed on to his arm!
