I was at the April 1964 clubby at Snetterton and saw a great Mini run by the Top gear racing team, driven by David Alexander. It had a big old Weber poking out the bonnet and was in a bright yellow with yellow and black chequered roof.
I'd love to build a slot car model of it and would appreciate any memories/ photos of it.
Many thanks,
Martin

Is this the David Alexander who once capsized an AC Ace at Snetterton and was thrown out, high into the air? I believe it was George Phillips who captured the moment on film, and once it was established that the driver was more or less OK 'Autosport' published his picture - flying high and wild...

sounds to me rather like it provided inspiration for scalextrics' own famous mini model, albeit with a clubman front
