I just flicked onto Sky Sports News and scrolling along the bottom it says Williams F1 chairman Adam Parr resigns, anyone got any news on this and know why?

Take it with a grain of salt, but motorsport-total is reporting that Parr and Bernie had personal 'issues' that were holding up the signing of the new Concorde Agreement.

Ii
I was confident they would move upp, after they announced him. Now it should be Parr and (cough cough!) Coughlan for Ferrari...
Posted 26 March 2012 - 07:51
Nope, not that im aware of. But maybe he should take Lucas job, which was up for grabs. It there any ground for this claim? Parr and Coughlan to Ferrari...?

Talks about life 'balance'. He also mentions his time there was 'challenging'. I think he's just reviewing his priorities in life.Just when they're showing potential. Must be family/travel related I guess.

@adamcooperf1: #F1 Given the timing one could speculate that there may have been some internal strife at Williams re the Concorde Agreement
@adamcooperf1: #F1 'Tis said on the grapevine that Bernie Ecclestone is not a member of the Adam Parr Fan Club...

Sorry to see him go. Isn´t Franks daughter stepping up in the team now when he is retairing. Perhaps it´s an issue between them.
Can´t see Bernie or Wolf behind this.

Williams hasn't signed the new Concorde Agreement with Bernie. That's the first time ever that Williams hasn't asked "how high" when Bernie has told them to jump.
Only one other large team hasn't signed, Mercedes and they're possibly on their way out of F1.

What is going on here?@EliGP: According to Spanish media, Parr and his replacement Rose have both left Williams. Poor Rose couldn't even start in his new job...

Claire? She literally just got the director of marketing job to replace Dominic Reilly (who's also ironically leaving on March 30th) I doubt she's in any way related to Parr leaving.
But the haste of Parr's resignation is weird. Nobody resigns with 4 days notice so either he has some personal issues (hope not) or Bernie is somehow involved in this.

Well one theory may be that Parr really was there with goals to take the complete leadership and maybe saw some things that made him realize than in future years that role will go to William's daughter and didn't want to waste his time anymore.

You're forgetting 1997, when Williams, along with McLaren and Tyrrell dragged it out. If anything Williams is one of the teams that isn't afraid to stand up to Bernie.

Why do you think people have a problem dealing with Parr?Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Parr was an obstacle for Williams to get a good deal with Bernie.. wouldn't be the first time..
