Disqualifications which meant that a driver/team lost their first/only

Win
Podium
Points

For example, Stefan Bellof lost his only podium after being disqualified from the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix.

Time penalty cost Stefano d'Aste his only WTCC win.

Scott Goodyear lost his only Indy 500 win thanks to some elementary errors both on his part and on the part of the USAC amateurs running the race - he passed the pace car too soon, but instead of flagging off the restart they went green and subsequently penalized Goodyear. Had that not happened we'd've been pointing to a couple of laps' worth of penalties costing Jacques Villeneuve his only 500.

Glenn Dunnaway was disqualified from the first-ever NASCAR Grand National race for running bootleg suspension wedges. It would have been his sole win. On the other hand it gave Jim Roper his one and only.

Turning this thread upside down, Sandro Nannini got his only F1 win in that famous Suzuka 89 race when Senna and Prost collided then Senna bounced back to win, but was controversially DQd for the marshalls having push-started his car! Nannini didn't get to step on the top step of the podium so I imagine it didn't felt like a proper victory.

Mads Ostberg got his first WRC win this weekend in similar circumstances, all the front runners crashed out bar Hirvonen then Hirvonen was DQd for parts in his Citroen not according to the regulations.

I'll ignore that we should restart races because one driver broke a rule, but Goodyear didn't win the 500. He was black flagged before the finish.

Goodyear carried on though and crossed the line first. Given that USAC had repeatedly shown themselves as clueless in the past, who's to say that Goodyear might not have won an appeal against the flag? I don't think his team took it forward.

Senna was not DQ'd because of a push start but because he didn't rejoin the track in the right way: http://www.forix.com...915001_fia_.jpg

There's no denying the logic, but he was never scored as winning the race(even temporarily).

Goodyear was ahead of the pace car before they'd even exited turn four so I guess his team didn't see much point in appealing as it was an open and shut case.

Turning it around too. Tiago Monteiro got his only F1 podium in the infamous 2005 US Grand Prix.
The Michelin teams were not technically disqualified though.

Michael Schumacher Lost his 3rd WDC after being disqualified for not having good enough aim (aim that 3 years earlier won him his first championship)

Somewhere in a parallel universe, Nico Rosberg won the only Grand Prix of his career after the original winner was disqualified from the Singapore Grand Prix in 2008...

Schumacher was only leading the championship on the road, he never actually won it DQ or otherwise.

Humm, I was pretty certain it was about the push start but I may be mistaken. That's an equally ludicrous reason for a full DQ (and I'm a Prost fan here) so at least I wasn't too far off.

Btw Forix links don't work for who isn't a Forix subscriber, I can't see that.

scheivlak is correct, it was because Senna rejoined the track in an illegal way, or should I say; illegal on the day as it was deemed legal just a day before.

Not really a win but Minardi was disqualified from a [provisional] double pole position in 2003 for being overweight, the reason if I'm not mistaken was because the dry tyres were heavier than the intermediates and Minardi had forgot to compensate for the heavier tyres.

IIRC they were fastest in Friday qualifying which would only have given them the right to run last on Saturday qualifying.
While that was, technically, a "provisional pole" they were always still going to qualify at the back of the grid come Saturday.

Scott Speed lost what would have been his first and ultimately only point due to being penalized for overtaking under yellow. This was at Melbourne in 2006.

Not push start. Joining the track the wrong way. Yes its stupid.

Why didn't they nail him for the push start, because that's usually enough.

Because push starts were OK if the car was deemed to be in a dangerous position.

Technically he took a short cut, right? Even though he didn't gain any time.

That race was stirring--his fight to come back was incredible.

Was he supposed to go against traffic?

Some cynical person might suggest that Senna had a faster car ...

When you're not on the track, you're not driving against the traffic.

He could have done a 'Sainte Devote': just turn around and go left joining the track (would not have been my first impulse, I have to say).

Thierry Boutsen was briefly declared the winner of 1985 San Marino GP, after Prost and de Angelis were disqualified. However, some time later that day, de Angelis' disqualification was lifted and he became the winner. That would be Boutsen's first F1 victory.

Sure? I doubt very much that without the safety car he would have been anywhere near the podium... he got LUCKY thanks to the SC, and yes, technically while Alonso should have been taken off the lists, Rosberg never ever would have been just behind him had their not been the whole attempt of the Renault (now Genii-"Lotus"-Lux criminals) cheats..

But he was second wasn't he? The logic being that Renault/Alonso would have been DQ'd thus giving Rosberg the win.
