I am trying to find out information regarding John Judge and RGM which was based in Hastings St Luton. I have recently acquired one of John Judge's Triumph Daytona race bikes.

All I know about Rose Green Motors, Luton is they used to supply sidecar chassis at one time, circa 1970. They were quite popular amongst the chair boys at the time.

I seem to recall they also did a rather tasty large-diameter disc brake conversion for early Commandos.

Were there 2 racers named John Judge?

John Judge from Burnley was a friend of mine who tragically lost his life in the '92 Junior MGP aged 33. Are they one and the same?

I was thinking the same thing John and I were entered as as team mates for the senior along with a guy called Rusty in 92.

Thank you for clearing that up Cranclive, The John Judge who I and Steve O'Brien knew worked at the local Ford dealership (Skippers) in Burnley where I used to live, I got to know John very well from my dealings there and from our common love of bike racing, John lived for his racing and was always a force to be reckoned with when he raced. He lost his life in a tragic accident at Rhencullen in the '92 Junior MGP. Still much missed by all who knew him.

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread,

I also have one of Johns race bikes,a 500 Kawasaki triple.

In the course of having it rebuilt I managed to make contact with the man himself. This was a few years ago in 2009.

He was residing in France but still has a house in Bedfordshire: when I visited him he had 3 Triumphs in his workshop, all superficially identical but he explained one was lower, another a bit longer etc,and  based on 350cc bottom ends for some reason.

If anyone has any pictures of him riding the 500 Kawasaki I'd appreciate seeing them,I have a few black and white shots but nothing in colour that I could base the paint scheme of the bike on.

As a result it was finished in the road bike orange and as a result  I've never been happy with it,(in fact I've never ridden it,it resides under a cover at the back of the barn, virtually ignored since I got it back from the builders )

I'd like to get it painted as he raced it,maybe do a few parades or something if that was the case
