"Pérez too inexperienced for Ferrari" *cough cough*

It is quite funny when two years ago everyone was predicting fireworks at Ferrari with Alonso humiliated by Massa.

I can't recall that, sure you not making it up.

Perez, Diresta Koba and others aren´t in line for a number one seat at one of the top teams. It must be a proven race winner.

For a lesser number two drive perhaps. But Massa is very fast.

Best Perez lap was 1.16.014 - on 27 laps old tires, Vetel lap was made in last turn with 6 laps old SS tyres, if not Perez whould have had the fastest lap also. Even so, he was the best on second sector and had the top speed.
So , i fail to understand why Ferrari consider this beeing bad and agressive?
Anyway, Valencia next , Perez had the fastest lap @ Monaco ( Sergio Perez Sauber 1:17.29 even if he did a strange race ) that is a similar track, so he may do another agressive race next week as well, i wonder, what Ferrari will comment next if somehow Sergio pulls another podium?

If Perez is offered the second Ferrari seat then he should snap it up instantly. You can never guarantee anything in F1, and carpe diem is the name of the game. Hamilton believed he was the fastest driver in the world going into the 2007 season with no F1 experience, and he proved it. If Perez has pretensions of sitting at the big boys table, and if he truly believes he is the best driver in the business, then he should jump into that Ferrari and take it to Alonso. Nothing else could possibly boost his stock as quickly, so why wait?

Vettel's rumoured pre-contract with Ferrari for 2014 shouldn't stop him either. If he performs well, he will secure another top drive. Even if he is underwhelming he can probably go back to Sauber or another midfield team, unless he gets crushed by Alonso which probably means he never had what it takes anyway. I think politics in F1 are overstated. If Perez is quicker than Alonso, Ferrari will back him to the hilt. In the words of Death Cab for Cutie, "I knew that you were a truth I would rather lose than to have never lain beside at all." Well, Sergio, if Ferrari lift their skirt it's time to drop your pants and prove that fortune favours the brave.

I think he is overrated too, but not totally without talent.
He is just making way too many rookie mistakes at the moment - he hasn't learnt to use his brain, yet
Maybe the experience will learn him some lessons.

But the thing with Perez is that he brings money and South/Central American market with him,

I don't think he is the next big thing but i wouldn't deny he has talent. He is a decent candidate for #2 driver, not #1 but hey who knows he could prove us all wrong. Ferrari doesn't need Telmex money per say IMO.

Perez choked when it counted. With a faster car, he just could not make the pass on Alonso at Malaysia. Put them in the same car with Alonso and Perez Formula 1 career is over.

I don't want to hype Perez, but you forgot a key element of that race. Sauber was cautious as ever.

Besides that Sauber waited one lap too long to bring in Perez, again becuase they wanted to see how Red Bull and Ferrari were doing. With that type of reactionary thinking it's no wonder that Sauber never get's to the top step.

It pains me to say, since Sauber is my home-team. If it's one thing that I do not miss about my home country then it's always being over cautious. It's more this type of thinking, that needs to be reevaluated at Sauber. Because in the end it rubs down to the drivers and especially if one is a rookie.

I prefer "No guts, no glory" mentality, if I were leading a F1 team. The failures would be spectacular, but so would be the wins.

Perez will do fine within a team that encourages him to go for it. I'd think Koba would develop further too.
