I for one am very excited about the race this year, more so than any in recent years.

Who's going and who do you think will be good this year?

If Lewis or Jenson get a win it's going to be electric.

I'll be there. Would love to see a good performance from JB, but the signs are not currently good.

Main thing I'm hoping at the moment is that this damn weather will improve. I'm fed up with a cold and wet Silverstone and want to bask in the sun for a change.

Should be. The weather in Britain has been superb this summer....Erm, take a coat pal!

I would be looking forward to it, but for the 1st time in 10 years I'm not going. Personally for me, I can't justify the ticket price, nor afford a whole weekend there anyway.

Would be great if Jenson could record his first British GP win (which we all know he DESPERATELY wants - he doesn't want this to be his Rubens/Interlagos or Webber/Melbourne) at a time when he couldn't be less likely to do well at the Northamptonshire track.

Even when he is doing OK something always goes wrong. Car breaks down, wheel falls off etc. etc. I still can't believe that in his championship year Silverstone was where his slump started.

Im going and I can't wait!

Mostly because all the teams are so competitive this year, normally Red Bull run away with it (with the exception of last year)

Anyone could win!! (but hopefully McLaren!)

Yep I'm going and I absolutely can't wait!

Travelling down Thursday morning with my wife and 2 sons, camping in the Families area at Woodlands (first time here we normally camp down in the Village so if anyone has some pointers it would be great) and then Stowe B for the race :)
My little slice of yearly GP Heaven.

Yes that was bizzarre in some ways. The level of support he had that year was incredible and I felt so sorry for all the Jenson fans (I of course will cheer on a Brit but would never class myself as a huge fan of his) I remember the atmosphere on the Camp Site on Thursday / Friday was absolutely 'Jenson Party Time' and things go flatter and flatter as the weekend went on.

2008 weather was wonderful, not a huge risk of getting burnt but a rather marvellous day if you were a Lewis fan :)

I'm jealous it's a trip I want to and will make at some point. Perhaps when you get back you could write up a trip report with pro's and con's on the GP Travelling forum? I reckon I would find it very useful.

Soak it in and don't peak too early!
I grew up very close to Brands Hatch and my very first BGP was a 4th Birthday with my dad (I rather suspect FOR my dad!) The GP weekend normally falls on or at the nearest weekend to my birthday and I haven't missed too many in the intervening 38 years. My dad is now a little too inferm to go so now I go with my sons and for me it will always being a truly magical weekend (I always phone him so he can hear the national anthem just before the start he says hearing the crowd and anthem still gives him goosebumps).

Regards Mike

I just bought my Friday only ticket for the second year running

I missed the first half hour of practice on Friday last year because I left home too late. I thought I had arrived at Silverstone in plenty of time, but the queues to get in were a shambles.

Hope it's a bit warmer this year.

Think it will be an electric atmosphere this year - especially with Macca competitive and Lewis (hopefully to be joined by JB) flying.

In addition, this should be a track that they are VERY competitive at. Bearing in mind their speed at Barcelona, and the fact it will be cooler (you would guess).

Think if it is a cool, dry weekend, then Lewis will be a big favourite for victory and the crowd will go wild in scenes akin to Mansell Mania in the 80s. Would love to see him and Alonso fighting it out up front. That would make the atmosphere complete.

Great idea! Will make sure i post some photos & videos along with a little write up. To be honest i was tossing and turning between Monza & Spa but the difficulties in finding a localish, well priced hotel for Spa decided it in the end, probably left it too late as only booked it up a month or so ago.

We'll be there for the third year running and I can't wait. Will be arriving at the Woodlands camp site on Wednesday morning. Hoping for some decent weather and a Lewis win.

We went to Monza last year (I won a competition) and we would absolutely love to go again. We sat in the grandstand opposite the pits so got all the excitement of the build up to the race and the podium ceremony. Fantastic experience.

Another first timer here, been meening to go for years, but what a year to have my first experience, 6 Wdcs on the grid and a exciting season in prospect. Travelling down from Scotland and staying at Woodlands for the weekend, car will be loaded full of booze and looking forward to some good banter from fellow campers :D

My Dad and I will be going, 15th year in a row! We gave up camping two years ago, in the past we stayed on the Dadford Road campsite but his constant complaining about the noise inspired me to get us into a hotel - just got to put up with his snoring now!

We always base ourselves around Club, so will be interested to see the developments down there over the last 12 months. As for merch, I want a Kimi cap!
