Having bought a vast collection of Autosport recently I'm rather enjoying re-living the racing years 1966-1980, I've come across Martin Brain's fatal accident at Silverstone May 1970.

"Saying on lap 7 disaster came when, coming down the straight, the two leaders came up to lap two back markers. Graham Eden shot through the gap between them but Brain, who had attempted to go through the outside, touched something and the car shot off course at top speed and somersaulted into the long grass, in horrifying fashion."

Anyone there at the time see what happened, knew the family or meet Martin?

Slightly different version of events on Motorsport Memorial which seems to indicate a collision between Eden and Brain being the cause of the accident.
