One hundred years ago the forerunner of the British AAIB produced its first air accident investigation, after an incident at Brooklands. If you happen to share my interest interested in such matters, see here:

Doug,
Thanks - this is a significant centenary. I have been collecting old Air Accident investigation reports (mainly Forties/Fifties/Sixties) since working at the wonderful DanAir Engineering base at Lasham, nr Alton, in the 1970s. They make fascinating reading - there is almost never one cause, but most often a combination of incidents which taken together, have a fatal outcome. In this first-ever report, the disciplines of investigation are set down which every other report has followed since.

A great discovery.
Nick

What I missed from the notice is that it reports the death of Wilbur Wright, who with his brother Orville invented something...
