Alguersuari says he will be back next year

Why would the want to hire Alguersuari if the can go for Perez?.

Actually not true...Turun Sanomat only does mention that Kovalainen is on the top of Peter Sauber's list, they don't write a word about Alguersuari, that info came from another source...I thin it was f1fanatics or something.

Perez will most likely stay at Sauber but Kobayashi will not.

I'd add Vergne and Ricciardo too. They've been erratic and very unconsistent. They can maybe learn, but right now if I wanted a driver for my team, I'd pick Alguersuari over them.

#F1 Italia 1 has claimed that Perez has signed for Ferrari in 2013 before giving way to Vettel who has signed a 3 year deal from 2014

It is quite normal that they ask Fernando before signing anyone. That applies for Red Bull and Vettel as well. Stop dreaming and get real about this!

PS. I do not think Jaime is such a good driver, but where will Perez go?

Kobayashi is most likely staying at Sauber next year, the team is built around him and Peter has too much respect to drop him only after 1 SUB-PAR season after he has done so much for the team in there hard times, he would have more points than Perez if it wasn't for bad luck.

That might very well be, however could you see Ferrari rocking the boat, unless they do want to shake up Alonso's cage? I don't, thus if Alonso doesn't want someone in the team, that closes that subject for all practical purposes.

Jaime may not be as good as Schumi/Massa as someone has mentioned above, but comprable to the likes of Hulk/Kobayashi and most certainly better than Senna/Pic/De le Rosa/Narain.

This may be slightly off-topic and I'm sorry about it but this reminds me how excited people was about Senna, and nowdays he's no longer rated at all...

Really? In 2011 Buemi had only 63% of Alguersuari s scored points... Buemi didn t improve or at least match his own top quali and race results since 2009! And also best grid (6th and 7th) and race positions (2x 7th) in last season came from.. guess who...

Oh, yes cherry picking statistics to the rescue.

Had to search for it and did not re-check:

points ALG 26 - BUE 15
Qualifying - 11-8 for BUE
Races (who finished higher) 10-8 ALG [with one double DNF]
Two more DNF by BUE - 5, ALG - 3
Reasons:
Buemi: Hydraulic, Wheel, Technical, Accident damage x2
Alguersuari: Accident damage, Accident, Wheel

Buemi had some very some unlucky DNF in the second part of the season. Japan, Abu Dhabi and particularly India, he was eighth at the time, that's four points and two less for Alguesuari for example.

Buemi - is CLEARLY FASTER

Edit: He is 38% better at qualifying, 38%! imagine that.

I think a lot of people forget that he's 22, younger than a lot of the guys in GP2 and WSR.

I hope so. He's better than half the current grid in my opinion.

Jaime deserves a drive, he’s probably better than one-third of the current grid ...

That sounds like Force India, Sauber or maybe Williams. It won't be Torro Rosso and certainly not Caterham, Maurissa or HRT. Nor does it sound like Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull or Lotus.

With Williams, I do get the feeling that they will stick with their drivers for another year. So this leaves Sauber and Force India. Personally I would love Jaime to go to Sauber but not at the expense of losing Kobi unless he has a seat elsewhere.

“I am sure that next year, whether or not there are many (driver) movements, I will be in Formula One again.” Alguersuari told Spanish newspaper Marca.

“Obviously, I’m not asking for a car to win, only a team that gives me the ability to be among the top 10 consistently.

“This year, (it would be) teams like Williams, Sauber and Force India. A team with these characteristics.”
