Could someone explain to me how an auto race could be held in Olympia Stadion in Munich? I've been in that stadium and cannot conceive how it could be done. It's been 15 years since I was there but then it was still for track & field. Since then, has it been altered to allow a DTM event, asphalt laid over the track or what? Thanks in advance.

Race of Champions style. It is a non-points event as well.

Depends what you define as an .auto race' ? We have had 1/4 mile oval races in much snaller stadiums.

An oval would probably have been much better actually.

On the other hand the Munich circuit does look a little like the old arcade game Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat, which may be a bad thing.
