Until 2009 there was a formula series called Hungarian Championship E2000 first with old Coloni chassis then with Tatuus chassis.
Is the series still existing?

Yes it exist.
Its the part of the Duna Autós Gyorsasági Országos Bajnokság. In the last years there are only a few cars in the E2000 category(only 7 this year).
