Not at all. I lost respect for him because I am convinced he played politics for media, and was not telling the truth*. He has more than one face.

______________

*Based on contradicting subsequent comments by management on several occassions, including special audience with the owner.

If you chose to believe the Red Bull PR machine over a guy pissed off and pulling no punches, thats up to you. I would have thought with so many proven lies from RB over the past few years and especially the back track Marko made after Turkey that year, it could at least be considered that the team very much played the game. :well:

Webber is yet to prove in some credible manner, that he has a case, but if anything, this was clear abuse of a privileged conversation which was turned into public negotiations of his next deal. A bit underhanded, if you ask me, and anyone running on all eight cylinders must see through this. This is a case in favor of proposition why radio communications should be abolished.

Corrected. :p

I've been saying it for years, pit-to-driver radio needs to be banned except for safety critical messages (brakes failing, safety car, debris, etc). Fed-up of hearing drivers told what to do based on what some computer says a hundred miles away. I want the driver to decide what to do.

Well that's a different issue that has some merits.

But i'm not sure how you'd police your proposal to limit communications in that way.
Do you want the FIA to hire an extra 24 stewards to constantly listen to the radio feeds to make sure only "critical messages" are sent? Doesn't sound very practical, and doesn't add anything to the sport for the fans.

The OP was saying he wanted all car/pit communications to be banned because the drivers have said a handful of whiney things. Which clearly isn't a very good reason when you stack it against the hundreds of hours of emotional/tactical/safety etc... messages that we've heard over the years.

I think some people forget F1 is a team sport, and hearing from the pit crew during a race adds a lot to the race for the fans watching the sport.

I agree, I'd like to see it banned.

Some of the stuff they go on about is pretty ridiculous to be honest. 'Go faster' , 'we need you to catch the car infront of you', 'dont crash' ect..

And I really dont want to hear a driver having an orgasm when he wins a race.

All you need is a pit board.

That communication is not for us..... it is for the team.
