Who deserves a 1 race ban? Grosjean or Maldonado

Maldonado: Punished by the FIA for 12 separate incidents in 12 races so far.

Grosjean: Involved in 7 first lap crashes in 12 races so far.
Maldonado: Punished by the FIA for 12 separate incidents in 12 races so far.
You are focussing on the wrong aspect on Maldonado. His racing errors do not warrant race bans.
The question is; what deserves punishment, Grosjeans lack of spatial awareness leading to numerous early crashes in racing conditions, or Maldonado deliberating ramming drivers in non-racing conditions?
The fact that the former has been punished to this extent before the latter is a joke.

Out of all this, one question remains in my mind: what more does Maldonado have to do to get the race ban he's deserved since this race last year? Will the stewards give him a free pass if he drives the wrong way through Parabolica next week?
I think at this point Pastor will need to punch Charlie Whiting to get a ban.

Can we arrange that somehow? No offence to Charlie, but whatever is needed to get rid of Maldonado is perfectly warranted IMO.

I will make some phone calls.

I wouldn't ban someone for the odd incident here and there. Even though that's happened before, but Grosjean and Maldonado display serious failures along the same lines again and again...Add Schumacher's name to the list his nasty pit entry stunt was well out of order, but being Schumacher he got away with it.

On the other hand Maldonado should not be in F1 at all.......

Add Schumacher's name to the list his nasty pit entry stunt was well out of order, but being Schumacher he got away with it.
"Red Bull Racing admitted to the stewards that their instruction to the driver of car #1 [Vettel] was to 'do the opposite of car #7 [Schumacher]'. Therefore when car #7 headed for the pit entry car #1 aborted its entry to the pits," said the officials' statement.

Grosjean was reckless at the start today and caused a huge crash. It was entirely his fault and yes, I think he deserves a ban.
So I'll vote both, but for Pastor I really mean that he deserved a ban after Monaco.

Grosjean deserved the penalty because he's been way too careless at the starts.

Is your emoticon box not working? I can't see your 's andMaldonado doesn't deserve a ban at all, ridiculous, he is already getting enough penalties that are far too harsh

I don't think it's fair for Maldonado to get a penalty for the next race for jumping the start.
Grosjean deserved the penalty because he's been way too careless at the starts.
They obviously felt they had to penalise him somehow for jumping the start though. Had he not retired then obviously he would've got a drive through penalty, and so they obviously felt that to not punish him for it just because he retired wouldn't be right.

maldonado is just under the microscope now because he is a pay driver and folks here like a good wind up.
I love all the crap about maldonado being dangerous too.
he's not any more dangerous than any other driver there.
and why should he be banned for monaco?
trying to pass a little early?
he's never going to be perfect, to old already to write this off as rough edges, but he is displaying the speed in the williams chassis and that's all that matters to me.
keep on crying about maldonado deserving a ban, it's hilarious

I can't argue against Grosjean getting a race ban either though. It may have just been a mistake, but these "mistakes" are happening far too often at the start of races. These are supposed to be the best drivers in the world so they should be able to handle a race start without crashing all the time.

Perez was completely off the racing line moving slowly to let Maldonado past. There was absolutely no reason for Maldonado to swerve on to that part of the track other than to "scare" or crash in to Perez. I have watched 33 Monaco GPs and never seen anyone use that part of the race track other than to let a car past (while being lapped for example). You obviously no nothing about racing lines if you think he was just "passing a little early".

How in the world one can be involved in 7 crashes out of what, 12 races at the start?
MAL deserves a penalty, but not a race ban for Spa incidents.
Should have been 20 place grid penalty (10 for the jump start and another 10 for ramming GLO from behind), though.
For the entire season, I'd say both deserves a race ban for at least 1 GP.

With more penalties to his name last season I think he would've gotten a race ban after Monaco.

I've never read a more suiting penalty for RG, fits like a gloveI say starting from the pits for the rest of the year for GRO would be more appropriate penalty.
