Best Driver
Sergio Perez, incredible pace on the second stint, averaged a second a lap faster than Kobayashi over race distance

Worst Driver
Generally there was good drives all around the field so it feels a tad harsh to give it to Jerome d'Ambrosio. Not just for today but the weekend showed him to be out of his depth; if he was a top class driver you feel he would have stepped up to the mark better than he did. Sad because he showed flashes of real speed last year, but this may well be his last drivein an F1 car.

Best Overtake
The battle between Perez and Raikonnen was brilliant with Raikonnen's racecraft being exemplary as usual. The pass Perez pulled around the outside of the second chicane was pure bravery. http://twitpic.com/astv9f/full

Best Moment
Alonso mowing the lawn at Curve Grande, saw that one coming after what happened last year. That was one of the scariest things I've seen this year.

DRS & Tyres
Enjoyed the tyres this race, there was more battles and overtaking at non-DRS zones than I expected.
DRS- unnecessary on the main straight but worked fairly well on the shorter straight up to Ascari, Mclaren gained an 20 KPH advantage which is absolutely huge.

I gave it a 7. Nice start, great battles for 3-7th positions, though the race could have been a bit more interesting if there was a competitive Grosjean in there.

8/10. I admit it probably gets a bump due to Alonso climbing up to the podium, but it was still an otherwise pretty entertaining race. Pretty good driving standards considering the amount of action out there. Lots of cars going side by side into the tight chicanes and most everybody getting through cleanly.

For me, 8/10 but I voted 10/10 because I feel like to.

Alonso finished well given the circumstances, we got some passing, drama and controversy. And also surprises and dark horses. It was indeed interesting.

DRS & Tyres
Not really a crazy strategy race. DRS seems the same everywhere.

In a sentence
Better race than Spa, reliability made a return for once and probably gave Alonso the WDC.

I gave it a 7. Nice start, great battles for 3-7th positions, though the race could have been a bit more interesting if there was a competitive Grosjean in there.

First corner was way too clean, we needed him.

We shouldn't forget that he lost KERS by lap 6!

Jerome finished 45 seconds behind Kimi.
Last week at Spa Paul di Resta had a comparable KERS problem and finished 36 seconds behind Hulkenberg. Autosport gave him a 9 for that performance

Of course that was rather ridiculous, but I think Jeromes performance today is quite comparable to Paul's last week especially when you consider that Kimi is higher rated generally than Nico and it was Jerome's first race in the Lotus. The speed of his second stint was quite decent.

IMHO there was no out-and-out clear worst driver today, though Mark Webber could be a candidate.

Lots of good clean overtaking and a final charge from Perez to change the podium in the closing stages. Always good to have some controversy to talk about too :lol:

Worst driver Hard to say really. None

Overtake Checo on Kimi

DRS & Tyres More or less good. I suppose the difference between tyres could be a little bit bigger.

The racist monkey grunts reported by people at the race are disgusting and put shadow over this event. I know that booing of non-Ferrari drivers is almost like a tradition at Monza but organisers should try to do something about it as well.

It was also sad seeing both Redbulls and Button retire.

Good race from Perez

Worst Driver
Difficult. I think both Force India drivers could have done better. Hard to say. I don't think one should judge Jerome D'Ambrosio too hard when he is jumping into the car for one race.

Scariest moment

Boring race on a track that F1 cars have outgrown. And normally I am all for historic tracks. But this one isn't that interesting anymore.

Congrats to Lewis but lights to flags races bore me and this one was no exception although Perez and Alonso added a little entertainment but overall it was zzzZZ

I don't understand how you can like motor racing, yet dislike wheel to wheel racing?

As for custard being the worst driver, bit harsh.

I voted an eight, would've been a 9 if there were fewer DNF's, i really don't like races being tinted in that manner.
However it was still good to watch and as ever, a great spectacle (especially the turn 1 braking zone).

Best driver: I think this one is clear, Perez really out drove his car, a stunning performance.
Worst driver: There were no particularly bad drives in my opinion, so I will also say the crowd, I am disgusted at the apparent boo's and racist chants towards Hamilton, and partially Perez as well i understand. AWFUL!
Best overtake: Perez and Raikonnen had a few really good battles, good driving and great respect for the two. :up:

Best moment: Alonso coming up through the field was really good to watch, even though I hated every moment of it.
Tyres and DRS: They have been excellent for 3 races in a row now, BRAVO, Perelli seem to be getting the hang of it now.

Hamilton seemed to cruise and have it straightforward, but there were battles everywhere else for the podium and points positions. Perez charge came as a nice surprise, but it would have been even better had Button and Vettel not suffered failures. I gave it a nine.

Agree that his weekend was not great but... I disagree with you that he was out of his depth. The ridiculous rules that forbid test / reserve drivers to test the F1 cars during the season created a very steep learning curve for d'Ambrosio, he did a good job by just bringing the car home because frankly: you can't expext anything more from a driver that has to jump in to a car that he hardly knows, without any in-season mileage, you just can't expect someone to be competitive in that situation compared to drivers who have been driving in their cars all season.

On Belgian television Robert Doornbos was commenting as a consultant after the race and he mentioned that at the time that he was a testing driver for Red Bull, he got so much mileage that he knew the car inside out when he had to replace Klien, but nowadays young drivers don't get that running anymore and this is a real problem. You can't jugde Jerôme on this weekend, that would be extremely unfair, on top of that Monza is not an ideal track for the Lotus either.

Also interesting to note: d'Ambrosio drove the whole race without KERS because the system was broken!

Maybe they should bring third cars back so these reserve drivers arent so rusty and akso get some better chances to show themselves.

i voted 4. There was some reasonable fights down the field, but it was not much of a entertaining race. I am surprised most motorsport websites have called it dramatic and thriller.

Rated it a 6/10. It had some nice moments - especially up in the second chicane, but it was mostly another 'exciting because of the championship implications' race.

Best Driver: Lewis Hamilton. Fantastic pace all weekend. He's in good form, and I think Ferrari and Red Bull have reason to be worried.
Worst Driver: Mark Webber. He wasn't that bad, but he was quite unimpressive. He seemed to have yet another tough first few laps, and then just lingered at the bottom of the top 10. Not a good weekend for Red Bull.
Best Overtake: Alonso's first two laps were quite nice to see. Perez's move on Raikkonen was gutsy as well.
Best Moment: Aside from Alonso's great recovery in the early stages, I'll mention this slightly odd event: discovering that Kimi Raikkonen slots into third in the WDC standings. I knew he'd been doing a relatively good job but I was genuinely surprised to see him there on the prediction sheet after Vettel retired.
DRS & Tyres: Will never like the current format. The double DRS made most passing a formality, and I still do not like the enormous pace difference between tyres that are slightly more used than others. I just don't think a part of the car for which no competition is allowed should be so important.

5/10 for me. I found most of the race to be really dull. The only saving grace at all in my opinion was the amazing performance by Perez. If he hadn't gone as well as he had, I'd probably give the race a 2 or 3. I was almost falling asleep from lap 10 to somewhere between 35-40, and I never get tired during AM races (European races are on at 9:00 AM for me).

I enjoyed it a lot, I don't know what some people expect from a race. Plenty of action, different strategies, guys coming through the field.

Best driver:
Similar to last week, I won't give this to the Mclaren driver that had everything under his control, but rather to the guy who came through the field - Sergio Perez. Some may say that he lucked into second place, because of the tyres, but if you look at it, it was quite an unbelievable drive. On hards he was passing guys on softs, kept great pace, and lasted long enough to make the one stop work. Then on the second stint, he posted one fastest lap after another, and kept similar pace until the end, going as fast as the two stopping Mercedes drivers.

Worst driver:
Let's say Webber, not because I think he was actually the worst driver of the day, but he's looking very average in last couple of races...

Best overtake:
Perez / Räikkönen
Both were nice

Best moment:
The "Grosjean collection" on the podium

DRS & tyres:
I don't like DRS, and I don't like that there were two zones, but at least it was fairly unnoticable.
Tyres were good. No ridiculous degradation and we saw some different strategies used. Mercedes thus just about returned to the spots they occupied previously, and Checo got the best possible result for his strategy. Some may argue that this kind of drives show what a lottery these tyres are, but I like to think of it as an opportunity for the driver to show his worth by taking a risk and making a different strategy work.. In the BS era, there was no such a thing as a "different strategy", and as a result you couldn't see this kind of thing at all. Well... I for one like it.
