The question is quite blunt: what's your favorite F1 car?

The answer may not be as easy.

If you could choose from any past, present, or future design...which would you pick?

My choice is simple; keeping in mind styling, performance, engine sound, and just general class...there is no other option for me other than the 1986 98t Lotus Turbo.

This is what perfection sounds like.

Just look at this body.

I didn't just choose it because of its victories or driver...but you can't argue with perfection.

Even the dash was class.

Just a beautiful car.

I have to say Jordan 191 as its one of the most beautiful cars ever designed.

But I also love the Tyrrell 006, Lotus 38, McLaren MP4/4 and several others.

You could spend hours looking through all those magnificent designs of the 70s and 80's, but I think this is pure fighter-jet sexy.

Just on styling, I've always been fond of the P34 Tyrrells, and even though it was a dog, the Arrows A2

My favourite in the sense that I have most to thank for is the F2005 as it brought to an end the least competitive and least enjoyable era of F1 in history.

This was my first full year watching F1 and DC was my fav then.

I don't think many people will disagree with this though.

The Lotus 49, before they ruined it with wings :( F1 cars of the 70s were awful compared to the 60s.

easily, such a amazing livery, wish they would've kept it instead of going for the chrome look.(even though the 2006 chrome livery was still fairly good since it lacked the red vodafone on the sidespods.

McLaren has had numerous beautiful cars. I could name a dozen which I think are great.
To keep it short, I loved the MP4-25, MP4-20 and MP4-17D.

Can I have both?

Difficult to pick one out. It'd have to be something from either '67 or '82 (the BT50 Brabham was beautiful  ). The general stylings in those years were simply amazing.

In terms of sound, either the MP4/15 or MP4-16

I've always loved the Arrows A23 especially in its testing livery

The only other one i've got is the VJM04 in Monaco spec with Di Resta at the wheel. Have so many on my wish list its untrue but £50/60 a pop is an awful lot of money!

The engine redline seemed to have been at 10800. Not at it matters much to this discussion, just to think towards the 2014 spec engines.

I loved the Lotus as a kid, but this one I loved maybe a little more (in addition to the already mentioned MP4-4):

I've always loved the Ligier JS 11/15, driven by Didier Pironi in 1980, as well as the McLaren MP4-4, driven by Ayrton Senna in 1988.

It is all in Finnish but these are the estimated amounts you may have to pay to drive a F1 car.

Man. My avatar is not me.

Yeah I've got a pretty good collection. Used to get them a lot cheaper than that. About £25-30. But they have gone up in the past couple of years. Haven't got any new ones in ages as I have about 12 on pre-order but Minichamps just haven't been producing the ones I'm waiting for.

The Ligier JS 11 of 1979 - with front wings. The Ligier JS 11/15 of 1980 was essentially the same car, but without front wings. They got the venturi effect working so well that they did not need front wings anymore.

It's the way I interpreted the question, it's just as valid as yours. Your perception of my dislike for your favourite team is misplaced/outdated/irrelevant.

Easy pick for me. The Benetton B201, was a dog of a car in early 2001, but the blue colour was so nice and it wasn't stuffed with sponsors and all. The shape of the car was very nice as well, but most cars were back in the 2000s,2001s.
