personally i dont like this guy...

but his intelligent in gathering information is by far the best compared to the others working in the same field

he was the only 1 who predicted schumacher 's comeback in 2010..

Kudos to the guy LOL

Exactly.

Also his podium interview in Singapore was very well done. Other than this, he is F1's court jester.

He was referred to as "broadcaster" on the Singapore podium.

Eddie is a very good court jester indeed. Two huge scoops in three years that none of the more serious journalists managed to get is a pretty impressive record.

Eddie is a journalist, these two scoops prove it.

It's spoonfed to him - he didn't scoop anything. Furthermore, his manner of presenting the spoonfed material has been deplorable due to the utter disrespect with which it is delivered, imo.

Sorry, have you a single fact to justify what you have said or are you just pulling all of that out of your arse ?

Everything that you have said is conjecture with nothing whatsoever to back it up. Show me quotes, links, etc. You are just repeating other people's bullshit there. It is not disrespectful for a journalist to report on rumours, especially if they turn out to be correct. It is Eddies job to find these rumours, and he has done so rather well so far. You are talking utter rubbish.

I couldn't agree more. This kind of thing makes him an asset to the BBC coverage. It wasn't Sky who broke this story.

The biggest winner is Bernie, Mercedes stay in F1 and the world champions are spread out across the top 5 teams.

Eddie was Bernie's puppet to push Hamilton's move into the public domain.

Couldn't agree more.

Eddie is a, sometimes very entertaining, puppet.
Almost everybody has an opinion about him.
A real artist, makes good tv - that's why he's such a popular puppet.

And actually, I really like his shirts. :D

Yep. The guy's hilarious in my opinion. His contacts are some of the best, I mean even Brundle wasn't convinced that Lewis was going to move!

and the biggest loser in this all?

Paul di Resta:
-Poised to be promoted to Mercedes
-Fell out with Antony Hamilton about diminishing prospects of joining Mercedes
-Took Button´s manager (in the hope to getting a McLaren drive)
-McLaren signs Perez
-Ferrari 2nd seat? Massa seems to be getting the nod

Really.... I mean..Really?! PDR is nothing but hype, teams aren't obligated to any driver and he is no where near Perez's Level in this season. Mercedes Benz is a Massive brand and they need more the Nico Rosberg and Di resta to market... those two would share 1 win between them and a few podiums, teams like Mercedes needs drivers who are on WDC level, I said this a long time ago... PDR will never go Mercedes in his current guise.

OT: Eddie is pretty good... he actually doesn't talk as much as people make him out to, but when he does its usually the truth... such as Bruno replacing Nick at spa.

Driver market shenanigans seem to be his speciality, but why should that be a surprise? Welcome to the Piranha Club Ron.

The biggest winner?

No.

Someone simply tipped him, EJ is still a massive knob.

Through coincidence or does Eddie know the right people?

Same here, the guy ran a small team on a shoestring budget, won races, which even mega Toyota did not manage to do, and is a successful businessman...and idiot indeed ;)

As this thread has proven it won't change most people's opinions about him, everyone is still going to call him a clown, but he knows his ****. I knew from his Schumacher reveal that he has some sources inside Mercedes somehow, and possibly elsewhere in the paddock. Plus the BBC wouldn't run his mostly-crazy sayings all over their front page if they didn't think there was anything decent behind them either, so it's not just about Eddie it's about the BBC too.

Doesn't matter if he has the worst possible taste for shirts and can be very annoying on occasions. The man is a legend.

He goes on to reveal secrets shared by his friends. So he basically betrays them.

Why would he do that only to be hated? Where is his honour? (not that I care)

And how do you know it was to remain a secret? Sometimes these things are leaked for a reason.

Eddie isn't a journalist, he's a pundit, and he has been around a LONG time. There is no one in the paddock who doesn't know and understand how Eddie operates. I am sure there are things said in confidence, and times where folks don't expressly ask him to keep something quiet. He's no dummy either and knows exactly what he can and can't get away with asking who. If someone told him about the deal, they wanted it in the public. If he gathered evidence and put it together for himself, then bravo - why blame him for sharing it?

What made EJ's prediction come true was Schumacher finally p++++++ off his team bosses at Singapore up to that point Hamilton to Mercedes it was just an increasingly likely possibility.
A possible source of the info was Lauda, It is easy to make a case that Lauda wanted to push the deal through and by leaking via EJ it became self-fulfilling increasing tension between Hamilton and Whitmarsh and also giving Schumacher a major shove towards the door.

And that's about the guts of it.

You're all reading too much into this, giving the guy too much credence.

You mean you don't think Bernie knows what is going on? Or you don't like that he briefs a TV broadcaster? Or you don't like that this TV broadcaster is Eddie Jordan?

The bottom line is: if Eddie seems this sure about a seemingly far fetched driver transfer in the future, how much credence will the story have?

Button, Vettel and Alonso win as well. Hamilton will never bother tham in a WDC fight again, except for the odd good race where the track magically suits Mercedes.

Button won't be a contender either. Hasn't got the pace to take the leadership role at McLaren.
