Alfa Romeo Tipo B identification

Can anyone identify the 2 seater Alfa Romeo Tipo B which Matt Grist drove at VSCC Snetterton last weekend? It would seem that they no longer have the ex Charlie Martin/David Black car and this car is clearly different.
Presumably it's not the ex Mille Miglia winner (5001) which I assume is still in the States with Greg Whitten.

I wasn't there myself so cannot supply a photo though there are some on the VSCC website.

The only other two-seater I have is chassis '50009' which was built from spares in the 1980s by Rodney Felton. The last time I saw that car, it was in the UK.

The last time I saw that car it had been returned to single seat configuration and was owned by Alan Rippon. I think it ran at VSCC Shelsley this year so I don't think it is that car but things can change very quickly.

Well the Mille Miglia winner was still with Whitten last month and I see no reason for him to sell it, so it is most likely not that one either.

Roger Saul (of Mulberry clothing) had a Biposto replica at a spring VSCC meeting about five years ago.

That is the car referred to Wouter's reply. Now owned by Alan Rippon and a monoposto again.

DVLA says 764XUY was built in 1934, runs with a 3.2 litre motor, first registered May 2011 and also says the vehicle colour is 'BLACK'.

DVLA says 764XUY was built in 1934, runs with a 3.2 litre motor, first registered May 2011 and also says the vehicle colour is 'BLACK'.

DVLA is notoriously unreliable about events that took place well before the DVLC was set up in the mid 1960s, and could also be confused by a 1934 car with a 1950s registration number.

764 XUY is one of the newly issued 'age-related' numbers; if the registration details are showing a date of first registration as May 2011, that would suggest that the car has not previously been registered in the UK (rather than the number being issued due to a 'cherished number' transfer)... which suggests either a recent import into the UK, or a build-up from parts never previously existing as a car...

Unreliable, as I said.
If the DVLA thinks that the digit-before-letter 1950s style is appropriately "age-related" for a 1930s car, nobody "out here" would.

50003 is the car the Grists have been racing in monoposto form for some years,

The question remains, have they converted it to a biposto, or is the Snetterton car a different one?

The car raced at Goodwood this year by the Rattenmeiers looks identical to 50003 to me. I'm assuming they've recently bought it.

You are right. That was 50003. Perhaps the Grists have copied the car and then sold it on?

According to this link Setphan Rettenmair had 50006 in monoposto form at Goodwood in 2009, would he not have had the same car at Goodwood this year ?

Your link actually attributes the Alfa to Matt Grist (but with a chassis number of 50006).

The Maserati on the left is attributed to Stephan Rattenmaier as 8CM chassis 3020 but in fact shows Simon Edwards's 4CM

I'm confused. My notes and photos from the Revival have the Rettenmaier Tipo B, race number 3, as registration number SF44. Is this not 50004?
