#F1 #Suzuka Vettel told me, the alleged impeding was under yellow. So he doesn't understad the problem.

In q3 obviously
That's odd. From the ferrari thread alonso already talked to the tv guys and this wasnt mentioned...

@tomcary_tel Perhaps the fat lady has not yet sung. Vettel called to stewards for allegedly impeding Alonso in Q3
Vettel deserves to be on pole, it would leave a sour taste if he was demoted.

Bit strange that Vettel said it wasn't a problem because it was in the yellow flag zone. Turn 16 is the chicane right? So their would've been no yellow flag then.
Just what I was thinking and yes turn 16 appears to be the chicane - http://en.wikipedia....=....svg&page=1

Well I would have thought Alonso would have mentioned being blocked that's all.
#21

I think it was Alonso's fastest lap as Vettel had backed off his lap through the yellows whereas Alonso finished his only lap of Q3. They were also very close on the live timing.Depends if Alonso was on a fast lap.

Yeah but what Vettel probably meant is he would have known Alonso's lap had been ruined by the yellow flag, why does it matter if I block him?

When did he impede Alonso?
porbably when he qualified in front of him starts to get a bit ridicilous

That may not wash seeing as Koba got 3rd on that lap.

I hate penalties so I am hoping he didn't block Alonso.
#28
Posted 06 October 2012 - 07:01
Just because that part of the lap had been ruined, Doesn't mean that he should assume that Alonso would completely back off the whole lap.Yeah but what Vettel probably meant is he would have known Alonso's lap had been ruined by the yellow flag, why does it matter if I block him?

Alonso already admitted that his lap was ruined due to the yellow flag. Now he wants to blame Vettel?
Where Alonso wants to blame Vettel ?

Maybe Sebastian impeded before the yellow flag.
Lets see what the investigation says before jumping to conclusions hysterically.

Ridiculous because he could block him? The rules are clear - penalty for blocking. Do you think that Vettel should have special protection?

Well you know what it is
- Hamilton always deserves penalties
- Vettel is never at fault
- Alonso is always behind the scenes trying to penalize the two above.
It never gets old

This is true, but his S1 time was about 0,2 faster than anything before and S2 was compromised because of Kimi, you have to take that in consideration.Alonso did a 17.7 in S3 of his Q3 lap, which was his best of the whole qualifying session, so I 'would be very surprised if we saw a penalty

Yeah, I don't know what the bitching is about here. A tenth extra would have had Alonso starting ahead of Perez... 2 tenths extra he would be starting ahead of Grosjean. This is true, but his S1 time was about 0,2 faster than anything before and S2 was compromised because of Kimi, you have to take that in consideration.
Ferrari have every right to report it to the stewards but I doubt anything will be done about it.

My thoughs as well. It almost seems illegal for Ferrari/Alonso to complain about anything that is done wrong on them.
I doubt there will be any penalty for Vettel even if he did impede Alonso.

Apparently Alonso's on board camera shows Vettel blocking him clearly. Source: spanish journalists, but we can not judge without taking a look at that footage I guess...
I remember reading that Vettel looked very scared right after qualy.

Cry me a river.Ferrari International Assistance.
It's funny how people complain about steward's inconsistency, but then complain when drivers are given penalties for matters like this. Vergne received a penalty. If Vettel blocked Alonso on his hot lap than he deserves to be penalized, nothing else to be added.
