Haha can't believe this stupid thread has so many replies.. It almost sounds like it came by surprise to some that Kimi doesn't CARE. He didn't CARE in his first career. He didn't CARE when rallying. He still doesn't CARE, and he never will. Kimi never changes - That's why he rocks!

This thread has so many replies not because Kimi doesn't care. It's because certain misguided folks actually think that his kind of attitude is actually cool, or that 'it rocks!'. They needed to be set straight.

:p

You guys have convinced me. Why did I ever like this guy...

I think you're mistaken. I'm not trying to convince you or anybody. I'm just pointing out the double standards here. That's all.

Agreed.

I remember back in 2005 a photo was being circulated in forums with Alonso in a boat and holding out his middle finger to the camera - which was Photoshopped no less - and he was labeled all sorts of things from being disrespectful to a total jerk. Yet when Kimi showed the middle finger (no Photoshop) to the camera this year, his crazy fans were saying how cool he is and finding it so hilarious that he 'just doesn't give a damn about anything'.

There is nothing cool about Kimi.

Just for you information! The photo where Kimi shows his middle finger was taken by a friend of him who published it on Facebook. It´s not that he showed the finger to a F1 photographer!

And you really seem to have a problem with the fact that so many like Kimi! If you don´t like him it´s okay! But then it should also be allowed to like him

Well in the meantime I am waiting for Alonso to apologize for the broken front wing on Räikkönen's Lotus.

You quoted my post without my tongue-in-cheek smiley. You do know that I was joking about Kimi fans needed to be set straight, right?

Funnily - but not surprisingly - enough, I find quite a few of the responses in this thread MUCH ruder than Räikkönen's original lack of empathy towards his fellow competitors and their ruined qualifying laps. I think my favourites are the ones where people call him names because being excruciatingly polite and gracious at all times is so very, very important.

And instead of apologizing Alonso, in very sportsmanlike manner mind you, actually blamed Räikkönen for Alonso moving his car sideways on track thus clipping the front wing on a rival car....

Thinking that Kimi's actions aren't cool is being indignant now? Or was it pointing out the double standards that is? :D

You guys have convinced me. Why did I ever like this guy...

Probably because he is a bit of a good driver. But that's ok, now that you have seen the light you can move on. May I suggest a new driver for you? How about Felipe? ;)

It's called double standard. Kimi is hyped for being an arsehole, while others being hated for it.

At least Alo/Ham/Vet can respect fellow drivers, while Kimi can't.

I seem to see with my very own eyes a 7 page thread of people 'hating' Kimi for this comment. What the **** are you on about? Where's the double standard?

This bizarre adoration of "Kimi being Kimi" is mad.

I once accidentally farted in an elevator. The doors opened and a few people who were waiting there smelled it and waited for the next elevator. This made them a couple minutes late for work. later, some tv reporters asked me if I was sorry and I said no (hey, shit happens...everybody farts right?).

Then a bunch of people on the internet got all upset because I wasn't sorry that I had a normal body function and launched all kinds of attacks on my personality, morals, character or lack thereof.

True story.

But did you have people stating how awesome you were for farting? :p

I still think that it's just hilarious that Kimi saying he doesn't care gets some people so furious.

Some more Kimi comments for you all from the past:

on Alonso's mental games "I couldn’t care less what that man thinks."

Does Michael Schumacher's presence bother you during the races? - "Why would it bother? Why should I care about Michael? I'm a driver, so it means nothing if he's there or not."

"Everyone has their own opinions. I don't care much about what other people say about me."

Opinion on Ron Dennis "He’s strange now and then. He always wants to know everything. He doesn’t interest me."

"Coulthard can say what he wants. I’m not interested in what he’s saying."

"I don’t give a damn about what Trulli says."

"Montoya’s comments doesn’t interest me."

On Hamilton's defences after Canadian GP "It doesn’t matter what he says"

"Formula 1 would be a paradise without the media."

"What the papers write about me afterwards makes me laugh."

"My life would be much more easier had I been a f1-driver in the 70’s with the guys. I was definitely born in the wrong era."

Discuss.

I don't get furious with Raikkonen - I just think that having dinner with him must be a very boring evening if this is the extent of his conversation! :)

Posts deleted, seems this topic has run its course and the discussions are no longer about Kimi's comments after qualifying
