And Yelloly moves back to GP3 with Carlin:

Odd move really as he was a lot better in the bigger cars. Budget I guess....

Daly will be testing in Portugal in GP3 again. I suspect with the ART/Lotus team, being they have a seat still open, but another good returnee if it happens.

Both Tio Ellinas and Vicky Piria testing for Marussia Manor Racing. I'm surprised they haven't already signed Tio.

It'll be a travesty is Vicky gets it over Tio. He's always been fast but never (i think) had more than one season in any series he's ever raced in, even now its a totally different formula to last year!

:(

If we have to have the "Token Girly" couldn't we at least get Powell back? At least she's vaguely competent...

Cassidy testing for manor today:

Nick Cassidy to test for manor at Estoril on Friday

Be nice to see him get a single seater chance. Thought he'd up in V8's for sure.

Alex Fontana's father was also racing driver. What's his name? Has some results from him from Formula Ford in the 80s?

Albino Fontana, I think, he competed in French F3 for a couple of seasons in the 1980s.

It was quite easy to rank female drivers from last year

1. Powell
2. Piria
3. Jorda

But none of them really did much that will be remembered. Powell had one point, Piria had one very big crash in Hockenheim and Jorda even DNQ'd.

La Rocca's profile has vanished from the GP3 site, oddly. Bamboo ONLY have Jorda according to that list.

Yeah, he was replaced due to uncertainty with sponsorship, at least officially.

Practice and Rookie Orientation start the same day as the opening round of the GP3 series, but I don't believe Daly would miss that for the Indy 500.

How come they've dropped Monaco? A shame, i know they've just added Valencia (Ricardo Tormo) to the calendar but it seems a little bit thin, not much milage compared with the F3 euro series, half the number of races now!

Good stuff!

I like Tio and think he's got a bit of potential, never had more than one season in a series through his career so far and although technically he's stayed in GP3 for a 2nd season its a totally different car, so most of his previous knowledge advantage goes out the window, not to mention its a seriously tough field, i think we'll get a good impression of his ultimate potential this season.

GP3 qualy result - Will be interesting to see if Korjus can finally live up to his early promise, a shame he has a 10 place grid penalty but happy for Tio, talented kid.

The Koiranen-Korjus combination worked wonders last time. Last year was a disaster for him, let's hope this year will be trouble-free to see what he is really capable of.

I'm staggered there was no contact through the first corner. They are all training to be GP2 drivers after all, but well done for the clean driving so far.

So far Ellinas is walking off into the distance, bit of a stalemate though for the rest of the race though.

Bit of action caused by that Trulli train, somewhat of a comedown compared to the GP2 race.

The engines are better certainly better though. As turbos go, those old ones must of been the worst.

Looks like Tio cooked his tires, not as bad as Kvyat though!
