Yup, USF1 would have been based in America though. I think the sport could do with having more teams based outside of the UK/Europe. But personally I don't mind having most of the teams based here...And 8 of them are UK based!

It would be nice to see more teams based elsewhere but i don't think it will happen. For fear of sounding like a completely over patriotic moron (which isn't my intention) its because a large portion of the best engineers are based in the UK, specifically in the "motorsport belt". Hell, even Caterham saw the error of their ways being as far a field as Norfolk!!

In fact did they not end up in court last year because they failed to pay their wind tunnel costs?

British National Anthem if they win.
Owners from Luxembourg.
Based in England.
Yes, the team principal is French but then again Ross Brawn is English and Mercedes aren't. Yes, they have a French engine but so do Williams and they're English. Yes, they have a French driver but so do Marussia and... Well, you get the idea.

Which is... none now. Isn't Red Bull more like the works team for Renault now?

This is another of those tricky topics where we would like you to please exercise caution when posting and remember that defamatory posts are not acceptable. The discussion should also centre on how this affects motorsport only.

My understanding is that Mallya owns 42.5% of the team, same percentage is owned by Sahara and 15% is with the Mol family so technically even though Mallya is the most visible of the stakeholders he's not the owner
Yep. I don't know how it works in India but over here they could take his share, which without the Mols and Sahara is worthless. There may be a first right of refusal to his partners should he wish to sell his stake in the team. He's been on his way out for a while. Perhaps the only thing that could happen to the team is a different ownership structure and a yet again renaming. Perhaps to simply "Sahara F1".

Was it not force India that had problems paying its bills previously as well?
In fact did they not end up in court last year because they failed to pay their wind tunnel costs?
Prior to the issues with paying the tunnel he had issues with paying for the motorhome. IIRC at one point they were threatening to sieze it or did sieze it.

Meh! Isnt that generalizing? Mind sharing names of some of these Indian companies based on which you made that blanket statement? In my experience, Indian companies are terrible debtors. I'm glad they maintain a policy of equal opportunity not to be paid and rip off domestic suppliers too. Kind of comforting.

That team in all it's guises has always seemed to attract a slightly shady side to it.
Starting way back when? Surely not fast Eddie?

It's based outside Silverstone. No, but they are running a programme over there. And the Indian national anthem will be played. Just like Red Bull and Austria, despite being based in Milton Keynes. It's how F1 is and has been for a long time...Where is it based, have they had any Indian drivers and whose anthem will play if they win a race?

Well, when Red Bull wins we hear the Austrian anthem even though Milton Keynes is not somewhere near Vienna.Where is it based, have they had any Indian drivers and whose anthem will play if they win a race?
It makes some sense then to expect that they will be playing the Indian anthem.

Not on a public forum. But I stand by my statement. Exporting to India is a nightmare. Even bidding on contracts is awful; our designs often find their way to our competitors. Bribery and corruption is rife.

This has been my experience too. Now I won't take a contract with an Indian customer unless I am paid in advance and no valuable intellectual property is involved.

I meant your comment about McLaren not having anything to do with EnZed. If it wasn't for Bruce there wouldn't be a McLaren.
