Vettel: "Massa can be as fast or even faster than Alonso"

Well, for some reason or another, Massa is performing much worse nowadays (except in last race) than he used to. Most obvious reason for that is what Vettel suggested.

On the contrary, people here seem to have more knowledge of the inner workings of Ferrari than anyone!

This is the worst attempt at mind games of all time.

Reason is not that difficult actually: most of the focus is on Alonso. How else is it possible that Ferrari have only since the last few races found a setup direction that suits Massa? One that is very different from the one Alonso is using. Since then, his performance has been good, although the results didn't show till the last race

Fact: Mark can be as fast or even faster than Vettel.

The most obvious reason is that he was in an extremely serious accident that even involved brain injury. But the second most obvious is indeed that Alonso came in with their primary sponsor and is openly the first driver in a team that openly believes in having a first driver receive priority for WDC.

So…Vettel (the man who wants to drive for Ferrari in the future) suggests that in some way, Ferrari is sabotaging Massa…does he have evidence of this?...who cares, Vettel doesn´t need evidence…maybe he knows perfectly what he is talking about, I mean, not few people have said "Webber does not have equal treatment/equipment in Red Bull"…

In my opinion Vettel wanted to praise Massa…and at the same time, he took advantage of the situation to send a message to Alonso

This is pure mind games "My team doesnt have a clear Number 1 policy so Alonso has big advantage blablabla". Vettel is ******* his pants. I hope Alonso's reply is on the track.

Wasn't exactly the same stuff already posted some time ago? Given that the interview was probably given to a Brazilian newspaper (likely wanting to big up Massa) and translated forth and back (original source?), it's not that special. Most drivers can beat their team mates from time to time. Even Massa should be able to do this, although he has only recently made the impression of being able to challenge Alonso. So, I don't think those are mind games.

Ironically, Alonso praised Massa before Vettel.

"If the team decides to change Felipe, anyone who arrives has to be better than Felipe"..."With all the names you hear, if you compare what Felipe has done in Formula One and what these little names have done in Formula One...

I remember people criticizing Alonso´s words. I bet that some of the people who admire Vettel´s premonitory powers now, criticized Alonso´s words previously.

Two races and people are forgetting Massa's poor performance for 2 complete seasons. Any of the "little names" that were considered for the second Ferrari seat before FA strongly backed Massa, could probably do a more solid job than Massa (again, considering a window greater than the last two races). There's a fundamental difference between what Vettel and Alonso said. Vettel implied that Massa should be faster at Ferrari given his past while Alonso talked him up because he's a comfortable opponent.
