Reason is not that difficult actually: most of the focus is on Alonso. How else is it possible that Ferrari have only since the last few races found a setup direction that suits Massa? One that is very different from the one Alonso is using. Since then, his performance has been good, although the results didn't show till the last raceWell, for some reason or another, Massa is performing much worse nowadays (except in last race) than he used to. Most obvious reason for that is what Vettel suggested.
Vettel: "Massa can be as fast or even faster than Alonso"

If Ferrari normally uses 95% strategy effort to remote control Alonso and 5% Massa, that must have some influence when dealing with the traffic.
Suddendly Koba started getting a podium as well, when Perez was confirmed to move out of team. And same in 2009 when Massa injured. Suddendly Ferrari showed trust in Kimi and the driver started to perform in the races to a higher standard.

On the contrary, people here seem to have more knowledge of the inner workings of Ferrari than anyone!
About Vettel - I think he means what he says - that Massa is a good driver, he's just been trough a bad period lately.
And there are several reasons to that. The accident, forced to be number two driver in the team, etc...
But of course, Seb is playing mindgames with Alonso and enjoys it.

This is the worst attempt at mind games of all time.
Unless we count the twitter "I´d be faster than you with your wing" Lewis attempt. THAT was lame.

Go ahead and let the world know how it is you know that Massa's setup is "very different" from Alonso's, I'm interested... While we're at it let me ask you, do you think it's possible that a team could have two cars each with a different set-up, do you think that maybe they'd even be so smart as to have each car set-up for it's driver?

Fact: Mark can be as fast or even faster than Vettel.
It depends on how many times Vettel brakes a new front wing and they replace it with Webber's

The most obvious reason is that he was in an extremely serious accident that even involved brain injury. But the second most obvious is indeed that Alonso came in with their primary sponsor and is openly the first driver in a team that openly believes in having a first driver receive priority for WDC.
Why not "Alonso is a much better driver"?
Doesn't suit your agenda I think...

I´m agree. Seb never needed those stupid games Lewis and Alonso usually does.
Seb did/does his job when it matter, where it matter: on the track. And that´s why he is a 2xWDC.
He doesn´t need twitter account.

It is more like Vettel, the guy who has received openly invitations from Ferrari's president to go there (as early as next year!) is simply stating that he doesn't like the inequality on the treatment that Ferrari drivers receive...So…Vettel (the man who wants to drive for Ferrari in the future) suggests that in some way, Ferrari is sabotaging Massa…does he have evidence of this?...who cares, Vettel doesn´t need evidence…maybe he knows perfectly what he is talking about, I mean, not few people have said "Webber does not have equal treatment/equipment in Red Bull"…
In my opinion Vettel wanted to praise Massa…and at the same time, he took advantage of the situation to send a message to Alonso

Lets see the reply on track. Dont cop out later on saying the car wasnt upto the "reply"

Wasn't exactly the same stuff already posted some time ago? Given that the interview was probably given to a Brazilian newspaper (likely wanting to big up Massa) and translated forth and back (original source?), it's not that special. Most drivers can beat their team mates from time to time. Even Massa should be able to do this, although he has only recently made the impression of being able to challenge Alonso. So, I don't think those are mind games.
Yep, I mentioned it earlier but alonso fans are too furious to notice it . It was originally in Folha de Sao Paolo and I think it is politeness for their countryman from Vettel´s side...

Err
Massa before or after
Before or after the introduction of Pirelli tyres I assume you mean, as the crash doesn't account for his worsening form from his very first race back in 2010 to 2012.

Indeed, success in F1 depends a lot how driver can play his mind game. And to be honest Massa has been destroyed in that department by Alonso. But a couple of Alonso DNFs has helped a lot, the reasons for those being quite irrelevant. In my opinion, it's all mind games.

Yeah... me too. Ferrari might be flirting with Vettel, but he is not going there unless equality is granted. And Alonso is no friend of equal treatment. None at all!I have a pet theory that Massa is going to be at Ferrari every bit as long as Alonso. It involves a very finite future for Monte and Santander as well. There have been numerous signs

"If the team decides to change Felipe, anyone who arrives has to be better than Felipe"..."With all the names you hear, if you compare what Felipe has done in Formula One and what these little names have done in Formula One...
I remember people criticizing Alonso´s words. I bet that some of the people who admire Vettel´s premonitory powers now, criticized Alonso´s words previously.

Two races and people are forgetting Massa's poor performance for 2 complete seasons. Any of the "little names" that were considered for the second Ferrari seat before FA strongly backed Massa, could probably do a more solid job than Massa (again, considering a window greater than the last two races). There's a fundamental difference between what Vettel and Alonso said. Vettel implied that Massa should be faster at Ferrari given his past while Alonso talked him up because he's a comfortable opponent.

We really aught to look forward. Way too many are somehow stuck in the past. Let's see how he does for the rest of the season.
