Assuming, you being a team principal of a dominant team/car over a period of time, which driver will you hire out the 6 champs!

I have not added Michael Schumacher purposely, then the answer is obvious :) (not to mention in his prime)

First I read this like "Who would you hire as a team principal" -> Who would be the best team principal of this lot?

Then I gave it another thought and I remembered that more or less the same question was asked less than two months ago..... http://forums.autosp...w...900&hl=hire

With a dominant car, half the F1 field should be able to win it all. Isn't that what being an all powerfull grand prix driver means?
Voted Alonzo. My least favorite but, the one I respect[as a driver] the most.Experience, racecraft, etc.

Another poll where 90% will vote for their favorite driver.

I think we have had more of these polls than we have had races this year. Why?

Button. A dominant car (assuming it's designed to his style) such as the performance Brawn had in 2009 would see Jenson annihilate the grid. He has a very exact set of circumstances to meet to be as fast as the best drivers (saying that there's only 3 I'd say are better - Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel), but if they're met (see early 2009, Japan 2011, Spa 2012) he's just unstoppable.

He's less aggressive on the car than the likes of Hamilton and Vettel. He's as calm behind the wheel as Alonso, and as consistent to boot. And of course still one of the 5 or so fastest drivers in the world!

2nd would be Vettel. He shares a lot with Button in some ways, and a lot with Hamilton in others.

Obviously a bait for a stupid Ham/Vet/Alo fest but how anyone can vote Button over Alonso (ignoring the other two) is beyond me.

I agree, when the car was unstoppable so was he. He's a Goldilocks driver, when the car is just right, he's perhaps the fastest. And like you say, Vettel would be second choice as he's damn mighty too.

Kimi or Jenson as they would cost least and you can still be confident that would bring the title(s) home.

Interesting question, but let me ask you why would you not keep the driver who has prooven to you that you have THE DOMINANT car in the first place? Without a driver its just a piece of junk parked in the garage, and you have no idea (like with a shoe), on whose foot it will fit. In racing terms, take a McLaren which Hamilton drives today, and under the same set-up let three drivers to run ten laps under racing conditions. Who will be the fastest? Probably Hamilton because he knows the car. Let them run hunderds of laps, and you may notice differences. Repeat the same test in Ferrari, and then RB. Chances are, that feedback will differ, but in average those three drivers will deliver similar output.

I did not vote on grounds that polling on this question is really iffy in its substance.

I would hire Kimi, because I'm a fan and I'd like him to rack up some more wins/poles/FLs/WDC(s) because he deserves more. good enough? :D

Out of the current drivers? Alonso, followed by Vettel.

Of all time? Either Schumacher, Fangio, Clark or Prost.

It seems to me that Vettel is pretty good at winning races in dominant cars.

Its not another fav driver poll, my favourite driver is lewis, though i voted alonso.

If the poll was about hiring a driver with a less than dominant car then my answer may have been different

It doesn't matter who is your driver, if the car is like a F2002.. every single driver in this poll will dominate the season.

All time? Michael Schumacher, the 2002 version.

Current? Alonso or Vettel.
