Mulsanne's Corner has a set of 2014 LMP1 regulations posted:

http://www.mulsannes...newssept12.html

In appendix B is a table of performance options available, for No-'ERS' and a variety of 'ERS' options. The maximum fuel flow rate is to be regulated. So, what sort of peak power is likely for the various flow rates? Assuming 30% thermal efficiency would indicate as follows:

ERS Spec: No ERS <2MJ/Lap <4MJ/Lap <6MJ/Lap <8MJ/Lap
Petrol Energy MJ/Lap: 148 143.5 139 134.5 132.2
Max Petrol Flow kg/h: 93.5 91.5 88.5 86 85

30% TE approx. bhp: 413 404 391 380 376

(ACO specify 39.55MJ/kg for petrol).

And, the Max Petrol Flow suggests the following amount of full-power time around the lap:

ERS Spec: No ERS <2MJ/Lap <4MJ/Lap <6MJ/Lap <8MJ/Lap
Full-power s: 144.1 142.8 143.0 142.4 141.6

Anyone know what the current full-throttle time is around Le Mans?

So, what does this mean for the engine portion of the 2014 powertrain? And laptimes?

Feel free to challenge my assumptions!

Regards, Ian

(edited to get the tables half-decent looking...)

As far as I'm aware, it's in the region of 75-80% of the lap at full throttle, with a quick race lap currently in the region of 205 seconds.
