34 behind Crafton and 29 up on Lofton; It's pretty safe to say that Piquet will finish 7th in the points this year.

I don't know what he is going to do next year. He actually doesn't have a contract for next year yet but has won races and has sponsors, so we'll see.

What are Texans doing on a Friday night? I know it's just NCWTS, but is there anyone at the track?

Friday Night Lights aka High School football is Huge in Texas. plus near the end of the season for that sport and playoffs are loomimg .

^ Ah. Of course.

Yep Piquet has had a great run of late. In the last 3 races he's crossed the line (crash at Dega), he's finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

I have to believe Turner wants to keep him on. What's Buescher's plans next year btw? He s done a ton of NNS this year, and may win the Truck title. Full time Nationwide?

Buescher is guaranteed a full-time NW ride if he wins the title. Though, I think he would get it anyway.

Why is Jimmie Johnson posing with a rifle after he took Pole?

There has been a lot of recent pole theft in the area.

Kidding, I guess it's a Texas thing.

Dilla, I know nothing of Paludo's contract or finances, but he hasn't been close to the same level as the other Turner boys this year.

You think he's in danger of being replaced for next season?

He has Duraline sponsorship, but he has underachieved and I, personally, would put someone else in the truck. It also telling how competitive Klingerman has made the #7, the ride Paludo left for more competitiveness. He could move to Eddie Sharp Racing or something.

I would put Kyle Larson, Cole Whitt (if Jr can't find any sponsorship for him) or Parker Kligerman in the truck if he isn't retained by Red Horse. Turner hasn't really seemed to have a problem in finding team sponsors.

I'd wrangle Bubba away from Gibbs, who seems content to let him share 1/4 of a Nationwide car next year.

I was hoping Bubba would get an opportunity for the 18 truck. Busch put Jason Leffler and Brian Scott in the Truck. . .why not Wallace full-time, who has more potential and talent than both of them?

If Quiroga doesn't get enough sponsors next season, Busch could use the 51 for his little special guest appearances (himself, Hamlin, Vickers, KuBu, etc.).

Man, I just looked at the Turner boys stats. Paludo has seriously under-achieved:
After 20 races:

Buescher- P: 0. W: 4. T5: 10. T10: 14. DNF: 1

Piquet Jr- P: 3. W: 2. T5: 8. T10: 13. DNF: 5 (ouch)

Paludo- P: 1. W: 0. T5: 0. T10: 4. DNF: 1

Whatever he gets, he's guaranteed a Turner ride. There's benefits to marrying the owner's daughter. :p He's earned it though. Very promising young driver.

Just under two hours to go til the Nationwide race begins, so I figured I'd bump us back to the front page and drop some info.

Kyle Busch on pole at Texas Motor Speedway:

#54-Kyle Busch won the Coors Light Pole for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway with a speed of 183.051mph.

The rest of the top ten:
#2- Elliott Sadler
#33-Kevin Harvick,
#3-Austin Dillon,
#6-Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.,
#88-Cole Whitt,
#20-Joey Logano,
#7-Danica Patrick,
#18-Denny Hamlin,
and #99-Kenny Wallace.

Full lineup here.

BTW everyone in qualifying had enough fuel to get back to their garages. What a novel concept.

I agree, remove fuel gauges from open wheelers, it's all guess work anyway unless you are Ross Brawn.

Familiar picture up front, Kyle vs RCR vs Roush. Good to see Cole and Danica in the mix again.

Almost green. I heard sometime ago that Kyle was chasing Marin's record of winning a NNS race every year, is that acually true? Seems like an odd record to pursue.

I think it's a legit record.

See he's always had awesome equipment until this season. But this is KBM's first year fielding Nationwide cars so it's a big challenge to him to win a race in his first season in the series.

Hey I have a question.

In Britain/Europe, do they have Mobil 1 commercials where Lewis is all alpha and T-Stew is the blundering wanna be?

Depends a lot of which country now. I think I have seen those ads on Sky and maybe Motors TV, but in my country for example Mobil has no presence.

In other news, Long broke the shift.

So in those commercials, Lewis Hamilton is the cool one and Tony Stewart is the bumbling one, right?

Harvick and Busch have split the lead between them so far, PSP keeping up with the Cup drivers and Stenhouse having a mediocre race for a change.

Sounds about right. PSP complaining about her teammate also happened.

The ones I have seen are quite neutral actually.
Tho one might ask «who's the fat bloke harassing Lewis?»

Well, that's both JRM cars a lap down from green flag stops...looks like they have tyre wear problems.

Well she's cycled through into 4th somehow but she's just 10 laps out of sync.

Commentator says she can make it on fuel now. But she stops anyway--may be worried about tires.

Edit: Nah, maybe if he gets a caution.

Edit 2: It still might happen.
