I fear Key arrived too late to have a big impact on the STR8 (<- haha). Both with a full season behind them + James Key = STR should look decent next year.

Dan is a better driver than Jean, and I expect him to be the one graduating and Jean to be the one getting Marko's evil eye.

There's no sense hiring a 21yrs old guy and sacking him unless some really craptacular things consistently happened.

Now, this would've been awesome, awkward and fun, if one of the drivers suddenly jumped out of the closet!

This also means they're not rushing Felix da Costa into a seat, which is good news although I want to see him eventually of course.

RIC was a no brainer.

They were the only cars to watch in Korea, they still have some place on the grid even if they're no Minardi.
Well, they were Minardi. Does that count?

Daniel Ricciardo certainly was a better qualifying this year but Jean-Eric Vergne often looked better in the races.

first half of the year - yes, second half, definitely not.

Me thinks at least one of them will be booted at the end of 2013.
STR may be sold by then,i think DR has a great chance of racing for RB in 2014 if he keeps improving like this year.

DR started off a bit wobbly in the races, but has come good on the back end. He's been the stronger of the two in qualifying no doubt. JEV had the upper hand race wise at the start of the year, but I think DR has performed better in the second half.
It will be interesting to see how it pans out come next year when JEV knows all of the tracks though.
Hard to know how good they are without decent machinery. The argument always goes that Vettel was a star in his first year and no doubt he did well. However the STR wasn't a slouch that year. His average finish in 2008 was 7.2 (excluding retirements). If you take the best result for RBR no matter which driver it was they only averaged 8.2. Even if you factor in Vettel being a better driver than Webber or Coulthard the car was obviously capable. I don't think anyone would argue that this year's STR ever looked likely to trouble the podium, let alone take a victory even in the wet like Vettel did.

Exactly... Vergne delivers when it counts... And don t forget about Singapore, where he was running 10th and Schumi slammed into him... At that time Ricciardo was only couple of places behind... Daniel reminds me a lot of Trulli... Very quick over one lap, but that seems to be his only magic...

The points gap would be closer if he didn't have the fuel pickup problem in Italy as well as the brake problem in Korea. At the moment they are pretty even in races.Exactly... Good that STR has re-signed both for 2013 and as has been said earlier will be interesting to see how these guys go next year with a full season at STR behind them...

That depends on whether one of them gets promoted to the Red Bull team at seasons endMe thinks at least one of them will be booted at the end of 2013.

In that season that STR was BETTER than the Redbull.. at least in Vettel's hands. But credit to him, he showed what he could do with it, and then when getting the proper Redbull drive.. well yeah.. it speaks for itself now doesn't it.Good decision in my opinion.

That year of STR was like stars aligning and pure luck for Vettel, it was the one year that STR had a great car (Bourdais qualified top 3 in the same Monza weekend that Vettel won) but Vettel is a great driver either way.
