Only a short reply since it is off topic: RB suffered quite a bit from EBD rule changes, floor holes (clarification), engine torque maps (clarification). Even if you think Mclaren suffered more, you still have to think about whether that cost Hamilton roughly 70 points relative to Vettel, which would be needed to be in the championship fight at the moment. No, it was McLaren.

All over for Alonso.
Vettel will romp this.
But it's been obvious for a while that Vettel is faster. FA has acknowledged himself that he needs RB to have some sort of problem for him to win the championship, so I don't see how this changes anything. There's still a reasonable chance of a DNF for Vettel, or an incident on the track. What would really hurt FA even more would be McLaren or Lotus being right in there as well, and from these practice sessions he looks good from that perspective.

Thanks for killing the championship with your rule changes FIA! Good going.
RB did a better job than the other teams.

Today was a big hit from him, he had problems on his car (again), he came later and he delivered some stunning laps. Maybe tomorrow all will change, who knows, but today was another prove, new circuit very tricky where the driver is much important than the car.
P.D. McLaren has been overall the fastest car on Q3 this season and tomorrow will be again on the fight.

Nonsense. It's all been Red Bull tracks from Singapore on, that's why he's on top all the time. Calendar needs to be more balanced to even it out a bit more.Sebastian is fastest driver on the grid with exhaust, without it, with the faster car, without it, with the mapping, without it, from the lead, from the pit lane... in fact, they have changed the rules, he has been penalised, he had very bad luck, issues, fuel problems... but he´s still on the lead.

This. The car has been strong all year really, and close to dominating over the closing third of the season. In comparison Ferrari have battled with a car that's not *quite* there but maximized by a brilliant Alonso and Mclaren have found new and sometimes innovative ways to shoot themselves in the foot in a championship they could easily have won or been in the mix at this stage.
Add to this Seb has been brilliant over the last few races and IMHO Alonso needs a massive dose of luck to wrest this title from him.

It's not about the exhaust or mapping, it's about stable rear.

you do realize nobody plans the calendar according to the performances of a car. the fact that they've been red bull tracks is the merit of red bull alone.

They had a machine, well 2 machines actually, going around cleaning up the inside line of the start section, the side with the even numbers, it was shown on Sky.

I couldn't tell, I'll see if i can have another look, one was a bona-fide truck, as in, a large semi type, and the other following behind was a mid sized pick up truck, the big rig was apparently using a jet engine ?, This was according to Kravitz on Sky, who was then visibly delighted to play with the horn in a fire truck, so i wouldn't take the jet engine thing as gospel

I understand your point on addressing how some people discredit Vettel. But the driver is much more important than the car on a new slippery circuit? Never. Drivers can be more important than themselves from track to the other, but more important than the car itself. That is just non-sense.Sebastian is fastest driver on the grid with exhaust, without it, with the faster car, without it, with the mapping, without it, from the lead, from the pit lane... in fact, they have changed the rules, he has been penalised, he had very bad luck, issues, fuel problems... but he´s still on the lead.

I was the very first to bash Vettel to say that he has superior car etc... But after all what he proved this season, he can overtake, he can make numerous fastest lap, and he done almost everything he could.

Where he was in the first half of the season when his car wasn't superior? Sory, dominant

But he was always there, or thereabout. He had in 1st half of the season, car inferior to McLaren (and in some races to Lotus).
He was but nowhere near Alonso.
It's easy to call Vettel the best driver, strange that it's only suggestive when he has class of the field car

Well, he was behind Webber in various races in the first half of the season. As soon as Webber signed for next year and the car became the fastest Vettel is there again. For me Vettel is very good when the car is very good, otherwise, he is no better than Webber. Well, we all know he is a bit better than Webber, but not what we are seeing now.
I really believe that Vettel is like Pedrosa in Motogp, these two drivers goes fast as hell when everything is sopt on, but when it isn´t... they fail to deliver somehow. The thing is that Vettel has been lucky enough to join the right team in the right moment, most people here would agree with me that the result would be the same if you swap Vettel for Hulk , Diresta, or Rosberg or Button. But... would Button be fighting for the championship in that Ferrari? or Rosberg... os Vettl for that matter? I don´t think so.

Thats not strictly true. In qualy pace yes, for the most part the Mclaren had the edge, but can you remember the end of the Oz GP when Mark was hounding Lewis? The Red Bull has been one of the best cars in race trim all season. Red Bull won 3 out of the first nine race, that would of been 4 but for an alternator failing. The RB8 has been the best race car over the course of the season, comfortably IMO.

Depends on if the question is asked at Alonsofans.com, then perhaps most people would agree with you. Otherwise, no.

And only not being in the title lead for a far longer time because of retiring from the lead in Valencia after a dominant performance.

Webber outraced Vettel only in China, Monaco and UK. Button outraced Hamilton in Australia, possibly Belgium, Japan (China, Germany are unknowns). Raikkonen was outraced by Grosjean in Valencia, Canada, possibly China (pacewise UK too). Alonso got outraced in Korea. But pacewise Massa is the worst driver of the four #2's anyway. So based on team-mate comparisons the top drivers are hardly separated.
Kimi had better pace than Grosjean at silverstone, kimi had more faster laps and already in the middle of the race Grosjean was behind Kimi but Kimi was able to pull away.
