I would assume the team is McLaren, can't see it being any of the others unless there was a radical colour scheme change. Coca Cola McLaren Mercedes has a good ring to it. :)

Edit - It's Burn and with Lotus.

I thought they still had 1 year of Vodafone?

I'd think its between McLaren and Mercedes though.

"won a race this season"

Does that imply a single race?

Autosport doesn't think it Mclaren, but it's a race winner this year. So my guess would be Lotus

I would say Mercedes or Lotus. Doesn't Mclaren already have a drinks sponsor?

Big sponsors in F1 is good news. Who cares where the money comes from. I want more competetive cars.

race or races, the article also says it maybe won't be McLaren because they already have energydrinks as sponsors as do Mercedes.... Lotus could be one option as they were said to be announce big sponsor from america recently.

Although it is not clear which outfit has secured the contract, AUTOSPORT understands that the high-profile tie-up is with a team that has won a race this season.

maybe it is just hope speaking, but could be that they would write "with a team that has won races" if it was mclaren? or to be more precise, "race winning team" instead of "has won a race" if there is no emphasis on the amount of races won?
god I hope it is lotus... :)

McLaren has Lucozade links, Mercedes has Monster links and Ferrari has TNT links. My bet is on Williams (who used to be sponsored by the energy drink Hell) or Lotus, and it won't be Red Bull obviously ;)

I heard about this about a month ago with suggestion it was McLaren. Given the source got the first bit right I'd have faith the second part is too despite the autosport comment. Interesting to see who it will be.

Whichever team it is, I hope Coca Cola use the Relentless brand as a title sponsor. Relentless McLaren Mercedes sounds pretty cool :)

Ferrari is red? Just like Marussia
Red Bull/STR has some red too, but obviously they won't be sponsored by Coca Cola :p
and Williams has some red

I think it'd actually look great on the Ferrari.

Merc/Lotus
or
Williams

Wasn't there talk about Coke buying Monster?
If yes, then I'd say Merc.
If not, then Lotus or Williams.

Coca Cola has more products than just the 'house' name, so it doesn't have to be a car with red...

Well there you go, 'Burn', with Lotus.

Any bidders on this being a small deal and nothing like the hype would imply?

Brilliant news!
Expect to see Raikkonen with a can of coke in his hand during race weekends next year, would not be the first time neither :p
(yes I know, the fact that it is Burn rather than Coke itself took out the foundation of my joke)

What kind of brand is this Burn anyway, haven't heard of it before?

That would be a highly apt name, considering the propensity for Lotus cars to set themselves on fire.

The branding on the car should give an indication of the size of the deal.

There is no mention burn will be the title sponsor, guess they will only have some small stickers on the car.

Yes, going to be great to have 'Burn' on the side of the car when something like this happens: http://startinggrid....29261.jpg?w=628

Me neither.

It's not mentioned on the UK website so don't think it's sold here, yet.

I would have thought too many well-publicised problems with McLaren's honesty and integrity over the years for Coca-Cola to want to chance it with them in any case.

Nice, always good to see major companies like Coca Cola enter the sport

Joe Saward had good info then, he reported on it some time ago.

Figures they go with Lotus
McLaren have the Lucozade sponsorship
Ferrari probably too expensive
Mercedes not really an image you'd want to go with energy drink and in the doldrums until now
So Lotus (and Kimi) makes sense

So it's just another can of fizzy sugary caffeine stuffed full of crap like Red Bull that no sports person in their right mind would ever drink, just aimed at teenies on the piss.

This is the Lotus team that used to be Renault who did some "interesting" work to ensure Safety Car deployment in Singapore a few years ago

But then again, I think the main culprits are out of the picture?
