(Rather busy on his way to Sao Paulo at the moment, I guess.)

Simon definitely took some HGP pics, but I'm not sure if they were of the HGP race itself, or just practice.

I did take a few photos of the HGP event at COTA. As they were taken with my point and shoot, alas not anywhere near pro quality. I have a small album of these on my Facebook page. A great HGP event however as the guys were really into the challenge of the track.

I took pne or two (actually 100-200), but only from practice and qualifying. I was unable to get trackside for the race due to inconvenient stuff such as work. Nothing remotely as photogenic on the undercard in Brazil this weekend, just two more sodding Porsche races...

His name is Todd Smathers John Goodman Todd Smathers (edited twice due to multiple myopia - see below) and I suspect he might be as tall as all three combined...

I thought it was John Goodman...and I think he's tall too.

What lap times was Marvin doing in the Brabham?

According to the link in post 6 Marvin covered the 10 laps in 21 min 14.34 sec. This would make his average lap time around 2 min 7.4 sec.

Yee-Haaar!!! I am loving the fact that Historic GP cars are alive and kicking in the USA  . What a shame that the cars here in Europe seem to only get on track en masse at bigger events. There is a lot riding on the Historic Formula One Championship for 2013...more cars on track will save the series long term :| . There seems to be quite a lot of cars in the USA that we don`t see in the European series  . Not a bad thing but the various grids that are well attended seem to bring out some great cars from yesteryear, Silverstone Classic for one :smoking: !
What price the logistics being arranged to ship in some of the American cars to Europe for a few invitation meetings :drunk: ? The guys from New Zealand did it in 2011 for the F5000 meetings through the summer and that was awesome  !!! 30 plus cars for the grids and really great racing to boot  !! Can just see it now.....30 plus F1 cars from the Cosworth/Matra/Ferrari era doing battle at places like Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Thruxton (YES!!) and Donington Park   .

You were right from the beginning, Simon. Smathers drove the B, and Goodman the B2.

I've just had a more detailed look at my snaps and originally captioned a few of them incorrectly. That's John Goodman in the first shot, the B2 with added helicopter, and Smathers is leading the gaggle in the B. Both, of course, were running as car #4, as did several others (not least Craig Bennett, whose Tyrrell P34 also features here)...

Hello (I felt "Hi" might not be appropriate under the circumstances) Todd,

May I ask, respectfully, and strictly in the interests of historical motor racing research, how tall you actually are?

Best regards
Richard, 5' 7"

I understand that this may have been the swansong for this series, most definitely for any COTA next year........
