Vettel- Really dislike him, but the reasons i do are contradictory to sying something nice about him as i dont like him because of his success to talent ratio....

However hes like Button in that he is robotic when on form, so many races since 2010 did i watch qualifying and just know whos won the race, he might only qualify .1 ahead but flies off in the race, i like how hes really the first ever to get everyone changing their helmets, and i like his personality when out of the race car, best of all including my favourite. Hes also very dedicated more then anyone since schumi from what i hear, and i love that.

Maldonado- Arrogant, but fast.

Hamilton. Never was a fan, don't like him and always tend to think he's a bit overhyped by his fans. But he had a very strong year as a driver with a lot of bad luck and would have more then deserved to be still in the battle with Vettel and Alonso in the last race.

Alonso. Don't like him either but there is no way to underestimate him as a driver.

Button and Kimi aren't loved by everybody?!

I don't like di Resta. He's a safe pair of hands though, haven't seen him bin the car too often.

I dislike Vettel, but I have to admit he's been amazing this year. He's really underestimated by many.

You've been here since 98(!) and think this is anything out of the ordinary? This has always been the official F1 hate-a-driver forums. Anyway,

Alonso is the best driver in the grid, and had his best season dragging a slow-ish Ferrari (albeit with a couple other advantages over his competitors - reliability and lack of team pitwall f*ckups come to mind) into a couple points from the world title. He's also been driving at this level for the past 8 years, with 3 different teams. Living legend already, really, if still a shady evil, mainpulative bastard.

Hamilton too had his best year in F1, unexpected after a slightly poor 2011. It seemed at a point he was giving up the focus on racing for becoming a celebrity first, but f*cking hell he really did drive the wheels of that Mac. And didn't mess up anywhere near as much as he used to in previous years. Lost a mammoth amount of points to factors outside his control, otherwise could have become champion or near. Top, top driver, not so top fashion model or hip-hop artist groupie (but top marks for that effort on trying to get rid of the "adorable prodigy child" tag).

Schumacher, well, I can't say much positive about the present as he's past it, but he is nowhere near as past it as any other 43 year olds would be. The points table is too unfair to him as he also had reliability and other issues. His past record however, I rate him up there as one of the 4 all time best paired with Fangio, Senna and Clark - 7 titles don't lie, no matter the rest. He's almost grown into that awkward old uncle role, the guy that still does things that all other old people no longer do, only because they're still fun to him, and that's nice. Still think he'd do Monaco'06/Jerez'97/Adelaide'94/Macau'90 all over again though.

Maldonado is a quick bastard. A very quick bastard. He owns Monaco like very few others and only great drivers do that (albeit some marshalls will object to that). He now owns Barcelona too because he won there in a freaking Williams, something that hadn't been done in 8 years. Were he capable of turning his speed into points, he'd be in a top team next year, but he's not. Still has done fantastically well to salvage the reputation of his speed, after coming into F1 branded the evil paydriver. Could do without ripping off the people of Venezuela though, or ripping off everyone's front wings (yeah, yeah I know, I'm a Grosjean fan).

Petrov has killed the career of grand prix winner, widely acclaimed God of Backmarkers 2010 and 2011 Heikki Kovalainen, through his racecraft alone. He also did enough last year to kill "Quick" Nick's career (albeit by only nearly matching him, which was enough for people to reach the conclusion Nick was finished), and seriously cast some doubt on Bruno Nephew's. That is extremely impressive for a guy that didn't do karts at all, and had an atrociously slow first season in F1 - fantastic rate of improvement. I still highly doubt his speed is anything above average though, and would rather have other drivers in the grid. Also, I'm sure they could've found an English teacher for him in Soviet Russia by now.

Massa, besides embarrassing my favourite driver back a few years ago, hence proving he was far better than everybody thought, came back from the dead this season and surprised the living sh*t out of everyone again, by bouncing back from Badoer-esque levels of performance mid-season to actually being quicker than Alonso in consecutive weekends by the end of the year. That was a mighty long sentence so now to keep up consistency I need to explain why I dislike him, and that's a difficult one. I don't really know why, probably because he's "passionate" for the sake of being "passionate" as all latins apparently must be. I'm latin and a cynical cold bastard so that's probably why he rubs me the wrong way.

Vettel is the youngest ever 3 times champion, Newey or no Newey. Ask Mark Webber how easy it is to do that. Besides casually winning GPs, topping qualifying sessions and fastest lap charts, often doing it all at once and all apparently invalidated by "xpert punditz" because of Newey; this folk shut up everyone who claimed he was rubbish for not overtaking, by right about passing the entire grid 3 times in Abu Dhabi and Interlagos alone, salvaging a doomed title bid in the process under enormous pressure. I don't really dislike him as much as the previous drivers, but that finger man, the yabadabadooooringdingdobibiloboooo, just stop it. Winners' arrogance is just not cool, bro.

Enough, otherwise you guys are going to think I hate everyone.

I've tried to like Sebi but failed. However I've never subscribed to the 'can't overtake' myth, I think he's extremely effective in traffic. Also very fast in the Red Bull and makes very few errors. Terrific work ethic and he's intelligent.

Vettel: Very good statistics, especially concerning WDC's vs age

Hamilton: Seems to be back at his 2007 level: really quick and more measured than last few years. Very hard to beat like this. Too bad he's gone to Mercedes, but maybe they can be a surprise next year.

Kimi (I actually like Kimi, but not so much his fans, anyway...): Very good racing in the last races of the year, seems to have shaken the rust away.

Schumacher: Seems to have interchanged the "obviously, [statement]" to "you know, from experience I know that [statement]". Also, to be honest I didn't pay much attention but he looked better than Rosberg this last year, I would have liked to see him in a more competitive car.

Apart from him, the other driver has to be PDR, he too seems to have the same trend as JB, mediocre driver, huge boring publicity, can't do anything wrong. i've always noticed media playing down both Sutil's and hulkenbergs speed ... when they do good, car was good that day, when PDR does good, he's the god

You did read the thread title? It was btw not "say something shitty about drivers you hate".

I disliked Maldonado last year. His unwillingness to accept responsibility for his actions and his king of the world attitude annoyed me. Add to that his a*s licking of Chavez and the package was complete. But in the second half of this season he matured and started to bring in points while at the same time continuing to qualify very well now and then. He's fast and he's not talking or playing dirty (anymore/yet). That's ok.

Massa to me the last couple of seasons has not only been gutless but also a hypocrite. I have started to change my opinion a bit in the last races. However, this change of opinion will not be confirmed until I see if he's capable of doing something next year. If he pulls another 2008, he'll gain a lot of respect.

It was not easy to find something, but here it is: Narain Karthikeyan was not always last when finishing a race.

Edit: Sorry, he was last in every race. For the exceptions I thought I found, the car was retired before the race finish. Need to find another positive.

Edit2 (15 minutes later): Well, he seems to be a nice guy.

I don't think I'd go as far to say I dislike any driver to be honest. It's more that I have some I like and some I just don't feel anything for. I think the only driver I've ever really disliked was MS in his Ferrari days..so here goes...

I understood but disliked the situation MS had worked for himself at Ferrari - team focused solely on him, dedicated number 2, tyre company working just for him,... - which ended up helping him win so many titles. It just seemed wrong that a single driver could have such an advantage over the rest of the grid and it certainly coloured my opinion of the titles he won during that period. However, I've got enormous respect for his second F1 career. He clearly came back because he missed the sport and felt there was still something to achieve. Being paired with Rosberg may have put off some drivers but MS still gave it a shot. I think he'd be the first to acknowledge that he's had some bad races this year but equally he's had some good ones too which show that some of the magic is still there. Also got to respect the way he finished up his career and his congratulations for Vettel in Brazil which was very heart-felt. All-in-all his return perhaps won't have done much for his driving reputation but he's certainly gone up in my estimation as a person.

Button is very good at creating relationships with the people he works with.

Alonso and Ferrari were impeccable this year, if they had a car that was .25 seconds faster Nando would be champion.

Vettel, its not that I don't like him he's a good guy and a great driver, just lose the finger, please. And I know that comment doesn't fit with the spirit of the thread.

Michael didn't have to come back but he did because he loves racing, I respect that immensely.

Sebastian Vettel - He's fantastically talented and one of the best qualifiers around. He's gone along way to justifying some of his hype, he pulled off a lot of overtaking from behind and again utilised the car to near its maximum. Also very funny outside the car and nice to genuinely see someone so open and articulate in front of the press.

If he makes a bold move to a new team and proves he's not afraid to take on a new teammate (in the form of Hamilton, Alonso, Kimi, even Button) I might actually become a fan (which shocks me).

Fernando Alonso
- Performed a pretty much perfect season, had a convincing command over Massa in qualifying and during most of the races. Drives like Malaysia and Valencia were some of the best in the last 10 years. In pure driving terms relative to his car Alonso just about deserved the championship although Hamilton and Vettel run him extremely close.

Pastor Maldonado
- His speed on street circuits is truly special and he thoroughly deserved his race win in Spain battling toe-to-toe with Alonso. I appreciate that he respects Williams so much and that he's worked hard to improve.

No negativity, at least I can say I've given this thread my best shot

Button sometimes makes great decisions in changing weather conditions.

Alonso might just be the best racer in the field.

Perez did a hell of a job to grab that seat at McLaren.

Perez: His attitude and arrogance as of late gets on my nerves but one thing is true, he really raced the wheels off that Sauber on his good days.

Hamilton: I can't stand his need to be a popstar/hip-hop star but this season he really raced his heart out and was a gentleman even when the team was screwing him over. He gets respect points for that.

Button - we get to see J. Michibata, good in tip-toing in wet on slicks
Alonso - best point scorer
Hamilton - mighty fast, can't even say that I dislike him that much any more, he can still be a **** here and there, but that comes with grooming from such an early age
Senna - he is out
di Resta - his crash in Brazil made British TV crew to STFU

Alonso's tweets make me laugh a lot, especially the samurai stuff.

If I was on a road trip and the weather turned bad, I'd want Button to take the wheel.

Webber is very polite to grant gridwalk interviews.

diResta has very little body fat.

Hamilton - Clearly the fastest over 1 lap and he has behaved almost like an adult this year. He's becoming less and less of a petulant man-child every year (and he'll need that new found maturity next year).
Alonso - I don't really dislike Alonso but I was never a massive fan, however he is the best driver in Formula 1 by a decent margin.

Alonso has the nickname Fred. I've got an uncle called Fred - and he's the coolest uncle in the world.

Vettel has the nickname Fingerboy. I believe I was the first person to coin that term on this and other messageboards. Many people call him that now - to the point that a bunch of fans had a banner with Fingerboy on at at the Chinese grand prix. I like him for giving me the opportunity to do that

In a similar vein, I'd like to thank Ferrari, a team I don't have much time for, for designing such an ugly car this year that they gave me the chance to have my Warholian 15 minutes at Jerez with my 'Ferrari y u no finish nose' banner...

I dont dislike any driver but I dont like PM's financing and his (apparent) lack of concern for the safety of others ... but I think with a bit more expererience he may well prove to be the quickest driver on the grid over a lap.

I also dont much care for MW's "hard but fair" approach to wheel to wheel racing... but he is the driver from whom I have the most respect as a person. He is the kind of guy you show your son and say ... see him, that's how you go about being a man.
