Who will fight in your opinion for 2013 title, WDC and WCC. Can we see anyone from outside 2012 year top 4 teams to mount a challenge for any of 2 titles?

As my biased opinion:
WDC will be all between Vettel, Raikkonen and Alonso, with Vettel getting 4th title in a row (though heart says it will be Raikkonen :p). Button will show once again that unless he will a dominant car, he cant challenge for a title, Perez will be miserable and finish around 8th in WDC table, while Grosjean will keep his **** together and finish at 4th at the very end. Webber will be leading WDC table till midsummer when he will sign for next year with RBR. Hamilton will finish 5th after puttin Mercedes POS car sometimes on podium

as for WCC
Epic showdown between RBR and Lotus, but Lotus will win it thanks to big improvment from Grosjean. 3rd will be Ferrari, McLaren 4th and Mercedes 5th.

If your predictions would be right, here are the WDC standings:

1. Vettel
2. Alonso/Raikkonen
3. just like #2
4. Grosjean
5. Hamilton
6. ??? (let's say Button)
7. ??? (let's say Rosberg)
8. Perez
... whatever

and in situation like this, propably the best for McLaren when their drivers are placed #6 and #8 you still see them in front of Mercedes in the constructors championship? IMO not a chance.

Imo Button will be right behind Hamilton in WDC standing, and Rosberg will be behind Perez (7th will be Webber)

There are a couple questions to answer. Can Ferrari build a fast one out of the box? Will the MP4-28 be more reliable than its predecessor? Will RG be able to avoid everyone this year? Has Mercedes found their pace?

If yes to any of those than we should be in for a good WCC. The WDC will depend on if JB can step up and if Ferrari give FA a challenger from the word go.

I don't see a fight for the WCC now that Hamilton has left McLaren, Red Bull all the way.

The WDC is more interesting, but I went for a three way battle between Vettel, Alonso and Button with Vettel most likely to come out on top yet again.

The question is about six month off in timing, but chances are, IMO anyway, that RB and Seb will prevail again, unless wheels will come off the RB cart, but that is extremely unlikely.

I completely forgot about Webber.

Anyway, it's really hard for me to believe that Mercedes drivers would finish so close to Button and Perez. But who knows, three years ago not many would say that Button will score more points than Hamilton during their time as team mates. :)

If McLaren come out with a rocketship that suits Button he could challenge for the title. But I think that 2013 will be a transitional year for McLaren, as they adjust to not having the team built around Hamilton, so I think they'll be further off the pace than this season, and as Perez is, in my opinion, overrated, they will be left to fight over 3rd with Lotus.

I don't think Lotus' car will be as fast as it was in 2012 compared to Red Bull and McLaren, so I don't see Raikkonen making a sustained title bid, but in the constructors I think they'll be helped by Grosjean becoming more reliable and hopefully putting his first-lap horrorshows behind him.

Mercedes will just be disappointing and will be lucky to challenge for fourth, and Hamilton could face his first ever season in F1 where he doesn't win a race - I think they've got to build for 2014, and hope to take advantage of the new engine regulations to get to the front.

So that leaves Ferrari and Red Bull. It's hard to look beyond Red Bull having another Newey-designed speed machine, and if we're unlucky it will be 2011 all over again. Within Red Bull it's clear that Vettel is number one; even if there wasn't preference shown to him over Mark Webber, I think he'd have the beating of the aging Australian.

But Ferrari will be the closest challengers, especially if Massa continues with the form he had in the second half of 2012. Obviously though it will be Alonso who spearheads their tilt at the drivers' title. I don't think Ferrari will have the speed of Red Bull though, and that must be a concern for LdM and everyone else at Maranello, as they haven't had a top quality car, in my opinion, since 2008, and definitely nothing approaching the quality of the F2004. Maybe Domenicali will be out of a job this time next year?

My opinions:

For drivers, Vettel and Alonso will definitely be in it, Button and Webber will be in with a shout, you can never count out Raikkonen, and of course Hamilton will be in there somewhere.

Massa won't be allowed to fight for the title early on, Perez may surprise but I fear inexperience will get the better of him, and I don't see Grosjean or Rosberg mounting a season-long challenge.

For the WCC, I can see it being closely fought amongst all five of the top teams, to be honest.

Here's my prediction.

Ferrari haven't made a truly front running car since 2008 and a competitive car since 2010, even the "super samurai" Alonso won't win in it but will amaze everybody with his brilliant spirit, determination & will to win. Even going to the lengths of learning klingon to keep radio messages a secret.

Mclaren have a super smooth JB but who'll spent too long working out which ARB/damper/thingymajig is causing him to actually explode his own tyres, so he won't mount a long term challenge, Perez will be trying to stuff more & more of his Peso's down Whitmarsh's pockets to save his ride whilst Ron Dennis's office mysteriously gains a "Hamilton" shrine along with a year long supply of Love Heart sweets. R.E.M's Everybody Hurts will blare from his office 24/7.

Hamilton will be spend the year slowly losing his hearing after being forced to listen to Niki regaling him with tales of yore for hours on end, resulting in a misunderstanding which will ultimately lead to him actually getting Britney Spears to perform a lap dance for Nico. Niki then mistakes Nico for Britney. Which (via the european court of human rights) leads to him leaving.

Grosjean won't crash.

Caterham will be regular poin.........i can't even finish that one.

That's my exact vote.

WDC:
1) Räikkonen
2) Vettel
3) Button
4) Alonso

Surprise of the year:
Rosberg finishes ahead of Hamilton

WCC:
1) RBR
2) Ferrari
3) McLaren
4) Lotus

Surprise of the year:
None

Vettel - Self explanatory
Webber - He'll need a perfect season but as long as he's in a Red Bull then he's a contender
Alonso - Will find a way
Button - McLaren finished 2012 quite strongly, I expect that to carry over to 2013 and whilst he had an ordinary 2012, 2011 proved Jenson's quality

I'm not going to say Perez as I don't think he'll have the consistency. Won't say Massa unless he starts the season on fire (He is the very definition of a confidence driver). And wouldn't be prepared to say Kimi at this stage as I'm not sure the Lotus will be able to keep up the same level of performance next year (Plus they seem to go backward in development as the season goes on).

Hardly, they got win in Abu Dhabi, on a track that didnt fit them well + their coanda exhaust was working better than MErcedes straight away, and Mercedes had like YDT and 3 races with it on.

WDC
Hamilton / Vettel / Alonso

That's what I voted. Not sure about Hamilton and Mercedes, but he will win some races at least. If Massa is again up to speed, Alonso will show him his place with some tough moves. Massa will not crash into Alonso. That will put him way behind Alonso and the WDC.

McLaren/RBR/Ferrari will be on top yet again. Lotus will be very strong as well. Mercedes and Sauber will be the dark horses.

I expect good battles between Button/Vettel/Alonso and Perez/Webber/Massa it will be interesting to watch Kimi vs Grssjean and Lewis vs Rosberg. They will have some strong races for sure. I expect 2-3 wins from Lewis (Canada, Monza, and one these races; Hungary,Singapore, Monaco, Abu Dhabi)

F1 will become even closer to a spec series with all of the 5 mentioned teams being very close. Experience, team operations, good in-season development and drivers may give RB an edge for the WCC though.

As for the WDC, in the last 4 races of the previous year we had Alonso with 69 points, Vettel with 66 points and Button with 57 points. It could be a fight between those 3. But as I mentioned above, many drivers could be in the battle if they have a good/lucky start in the season, since there probably won't be a dominating car with stable rules.

It could be a 2011 style walkover for Vettel. That's basically how 2012 finished. I'd expect Alonso and Button to win races, as they have for the past three seasons. Also Webber and hopefully Kimi. Lewis could get a win for Merecedes. But I fully expect Vettel to get the WDC.

Edit: And actually, Massa could well win a race or two. I don't see him challenging for the championship all season long (nor will Alonso) but I expect him to be up there in the top 5.

Sebastian, Alonso and Button for the WDC with Sebastian winning it by 30-40pts.

Easy Red Bull victory in the WCC with McLaren and Ferrari fighting for the minor podium finishes.

I have a feeling that Sebastian will make it four in a row, but I hope I'm wrong.

Mclaren will lose it once again despite having a good car. Mercedes will improve, but not enough for a title. Lotus will be similar to this year with Räikkönen possibly becoming the runner-up.

Ferrari to disappoint.

As much as I'd like to see HAM (and ROS) and Mercedes win races, I bet they wont. Even podium finishes would be surprising, looking at recent results in 2012.

Imho McLaren took the wrong young gun in PER... well, time will tell. I'm crossing fingers for a rocketship-like Sauber which is capable of fighting for the podium the whole season.

That WCC is so dependent on how well the "#2" driver does. If Massa performs like he did the 1st half of this year Ferrari has no chance, but if he performs like the 2nd half of the year they could easily win it. Grosjean showed a lot of pace so if he can just stop having crashes then he'd score a ton of points. Perez, who knows how he will do. He isn't great in qualifying which is important in the top teams.

Red Bull probably has the most "reliable" driver lineup for scoring points in 2013. They are both capable of scoring wins and and podiums regularly.

Problem is, the 2013 car isn't really that great a change from 2012. Only Mercedes is going for something entirely new. The rest are going to be mostly "evolutions" of the 2012 car.

Ergo, McLaren and RBR will have quick cars and Ferrari may make a jump to be level with them. Mercedes may gap the midfield a bit but it won't mess with the top 3. Lewis outscoring Perez? :rotfl:

My guess the order will be:

RBR
McLaren
Ferrari
Lotus
Mercedes
Williams
Sauber
Force India
Toro Rosso
Caterham
Marussia

The dark horses for next season are RG and LH/NR ... if RG drives to his potential he will beat KR easily and no one knows what to expect from Merc just yet.

... otherwise my response is the same boring response of everyone else... i.e. most likely it will be a repeat of the last half of 2012.

Edit: I should add SP to the list of dark horses ... but he has never impressed me. None of his good performances have been down to the kind of talents that I have respect for. Being great at tyre managment is making a virtue of necessity IMO and is nothing to write home about on the CV of an F1 driver in 2012/13.

I'm not expecting Grosjean to be any better, I think his flaws are hard-wired. Kimi will be better though. I think the fight behind Sebi and Nando will be the big interest next year: JB/LH/KR should be fascinating. Webber and Massa running interference.

Merc challenging for 3rd in wcc against Mac and Lotus.

I see two scenarios.

One is that Vettel will fight with himself for the title. And then Button, Alonso, Webber battle it out for the runner-up spot behind him. All like in 2011 then. Hamilton is replaced by Raikkonen as fifth in the championship.

Alternatively it will be like 2010 or 2012 with Vettel barely winning the title and Alonso running him close. Maybe Button too, but I suspect as always McLaren will run into some slump, which deny them a title shot.

I have found out that you are very often right in anything you say but in this case I believe you're wrong. If you're right that would make me happy because my belief that you're often right is right.

I'm guessing youre a Yes Minister fan...

SP will not be fighting for the title as I expect that Mr Whitmarsh will suddenly in 2013 realise that the policy of equality at Macca was their undoing all along and he will implement a soft version of number 1 driver system used at the other top teams... I expect SP will be told that he has to serve an apprenticeship for the first year or so - for his own good.

Vettel vs Button, a rematch of 2009. I'd like to see a 4-way battle with Alonso and Kimi in the mix but my gut says they will be battling with Webber for a distant third.

RBR/McLaren

Vettel/Button

No one would come close pacewise and without blunders at McLaren which i don't expect to happen after this year's lesson it will be quite straightforward through the year.
